Favorite All-time Athlete?

Recommended Posts

I was reading the "Most Hated Athlete" thread before this, and thought I was still in there when I started seeing Steve Prefontaine, Ken Griffey Jr, and Rich Franklin and was like "why would you ever hate them????."I had a response written out before I realized it was the Favorite Athlete thread. I think its time for bed :club:

My fave all time was Bo Jackson. Bo knows

overall: rich franklin (ufc middleweight champ)
Are you serious? If you look at history you can find much more well rounded fighters than him. Which reminds me - Royce Gracie is having a comeback fight at the end of next month against Matt Hughes. I like both of those guys more than Franklin. You can have your opinion though.

I'm going to go ahead and say Alan Shearer, Kyra Dyer (sp), Zidine Zindane, Roberto Carlos, Schevchenko and Iker Casillas.Top though would be Pele in the old days and Shearer now.

Crudup by far, I like Without Limits about 10x more then Prefontaine. Although here are parts I like in Prefontaine better then W/O Limits. Put them together you get about a 80% accurate picture of what really happened.

Baseball: Omar Vizquel. Caught his first home run as an indian in my ballcap hanging over the visitors bullpen back in '95 at the jake. My favorite moment EVER at a sporting event. Also the best defensive shortstop i've ever seen.Football: Barry Sanders. not even close. Made Thanksgiving tolerable. :club:Basketball: I hated Michael Jordan most of my life, but looking back, he was incredible. He ALWAYS destroyed the cavs, and once in the playoffs back at the old richfield coliseum(I was in attendance) he hurt his right hand early in the 2nd half(his shooting hand). He couldn't even shoot the ball, but somehow stayed in the game, went to his LEFT the rest of the game and STILL couldn't be stopped, leads the bulls to a come from behind victory.(the most incredible display I have ever witnessed).p.s. Lebron james is quickly moving up this list. :D
