Petoria 0
best part. Asking to take a vote every 5 minutes, and making sure to vote differently everytime.Saying that you're homeless, and this is the highest paying job in 5 years. Then doing whatever you can to prolong your time in there.

kers2 0
I got picked for jury duty and it would have been the time I was supposed to go to Vegas. So I told them I was still in school (half true) and got out of it. Nothing spoils my Vegas.

Turbo Dog 1
My favorite part was throwing the summons in the trash and pretending I never got it. Then feeling guilty for not doing my civic duty. Thanks for reminding me.

Ran into old HS friend. She had just broken up with boyfriend and was all upset. I was nice and got on the jury. We awarded the plaintiff nothing. We did it 3 times the last night, and haven't talked since.
ajs510 122
Made jury duty almost worth it, didn't it?I was summoned for a capital murder trial a few years ago, and was somewhat less than interested in spending 3-4 months of my life in a courtroom while my career went to ****. Pulled the race card out of my pocket, played it, got excused, and he ended up taking a deal anyway. Hopefully my name won't be coming up again anytime soon.

tyfgine 0
i got summoned about a month ago, and my work wasnt going to pay me for my days off. so, of course, i was selected for the first trial that was supposed to last about a week and a half. I was selected as one of the alternates. So, in front of everyone, they ask the 12 jurors and 6 alternates a bunch of questions about your background and your personal opinions. But first, they give you a little info about the trial. My trial was this sketchy looking woman who was getting arrested, and while the police were trying to arrest her, she ended up getting in a fight with three officers. so, they ask the jurors in front of everyone if they could give an unbiased judgement. they went through the 12 jurors and the first alternate, and no one said anything, they were just real quiet and said they could judge the case fairly. Then they came to me, the second alternate. I got up in front of the judge, attorneys, jurors and the 40 extra people they call in to observe. I just said flat out, "Well, honestly, there is no way i could judge this trial fairly, i mean this woman was getting arrested, fought three policemen, and is now claiming that she was assaulted by them. The case is her word against theirs, and I would beleive three policemens word over this woman any day of the week. i mean, do you really think they got together and planned this whole senario in order to get this woman into trouble?"i was immediately dismissed, and got the rest of the day off. sweet. :getting high while taking a day off face:
turd ferguson 1
I heart this thread. I laughed like three different times. I've never been to jury duty. Once I just didn't show up, and the other time I had moved to another county so I was exused before I made it to the courtroom. I told my work that I had to go for like two days though. It was a nice little break.

I'm always down for letting a group of people waste my tax money. That's why I'm against the death penalty. Let them rot in jail (for $150 per day.).
