pocket3s 0
Okay, you're in late position with Q 8 offsuit, with two MP limpers you've raised preflop to about 3 times the bb. Both players call. Flop comes J 8 5(rainbow), both players check to you, and you bet the pot. The first player then thinks for a long moment and pushes allin for about 4 times your bet. The other player folds. WHAT DO YOU DO?Please don't say what you would have done before this point, it doesn't matter. Just say whether you would call or fold and why.
WKTSWAY 0
That depends on A LOT.I just played in a tourny, and re-raised all in in that spot. But that was because of the person I was playing against. If I have no read, I fold 100% of the time.
pocket3s 0
Player has played 3 hands, one from the bb. First hand he played was from the bb with no raisers, he bet pot after the flop and had no callers. 2nd hand he played he called a guys 100 allin bet with pocket 7's and won. 3rd hand he called preflop and folded after a bet on the flop. It's about 20 minutes into the tourney.
nomad_monad 0
Stack sizes? How committed are you to this pot?Since it sounds like it's pretty early into the tournament, my guess is that your stack size is reasonably close to the villain's.In that case, and based on villain's prior actions, I think it's a clear fold here. The villain hasn't shown enough to establish him as reckless. You're about a 3-1 dog to any Jack, and if he's pushing an open-ended straight draw with 10-9, you are still only a very slight favorite. Sure, he could be pushing with a pocket pair lower than 88, a weaker middle pair, or it could be a pure bluff. But, assuming you aren't totally potstuck, calling an all-in for most of your stack early in the tournament on middle pair seems crazy to me unless the villain has shown himself to be a complete idiot. You should pick a better spot to get your money in.Also, given the nature of the board and what you have, a 1/2 pot-sized bet would probably be a better flop bet.
pocket3s 0
Villain has four times my bet and more than me, I've committed about 1/3rd of my chips at the point.
ben_wallace 0
From the limited info fold. He has a J with a bad kicker

MasterLJ 0
Sorry to not be informative, but making good all-in calls with low or middle pair is 99.9999999999999% read dependent. You need to have a wealth of reasons why you SHOULD call based on previous experiences with that player. baritonick 0
I think he means that you fold unless you have a read on him that tells you otherwise. So, in this case, where you have no read, fold.
