Timdog1010 0
Hey Chicagoans.I have the opportunity to accompany a ladyfriend of mine to a seminar she's attending in the Chicago area in April. We'd be at the Crown Plaza-Chicago O'Hare in Rosemont, IL.My question is: what are the nearest casinos? Any good ones? Any reccomendations or critiques? I've never been to Chicago other than O'Hare stop-overs, so any help you can give would be appreciated...Thanks.
Suited_Up 2
Nothing within an hour.Closest is Resorts East Chicago, IN.It's about the same distance as Trump, which is like the next exit over, but more of a shithole. They're both in or around gary, so that sucks, but resorts spreads higher limits, so you get a little better class of people.... a little.Trump: 3-6, 6-12, 2-5NL (200max)Resorts: 5-10, 10-20, 20-40, 5-10NL (500max)10-20 at resorts is delish. 5-10 aint bad either. It would take you about an hour or a little over to get there, depends on time of day. SunDrop 0
They have 5-10 and 10-20 at Hollywood in Aurora. The 5-10 plays like 2-4 I've heard (haven't been there since I was just starting playing).

RhinestoneCowboy 2
Head to the RAM if you like microbrews. Pretty nice bar very close to your hotel. Kurt summed up the casino outlook..

But still a little ways away. Probably about 45 min or so from O'hare am I right?Head to the RAM if you like microbrews. Pretty nice bar very close to your hotel. Kurt summed up the casino outlook..Agreed. I don't drink beer, but they have a hell of a drink list as well.... Just kinda weak for my liking, but always so reasonable compared to the city prices i'm used to.

Probably about 45 min or so from O'hare am I right?I'm not from the area but I visited my friend who lived near downtown and I think it took about an hour or so from there. He'd always call me though and tell me he had been in traffic for two hours on his way out there. And there's usually at least an hour wait. They don't have a lot of tables and the rake is like $6. So it might not be worth your time.

Just kinda weak for my liking, but always so reasonable compared to the city prices i'm used to.That's about right, which makes it closer than Gary (with the 294 construction) and the place is a little nicer, ESPECIALLY most of the dealers. Hollywood's 5/10 game is a donkfest, but the rake is silly. They take 10% up to $6 of every pot. Since this is usually a limp donk fest, but there are a lot of suckouts so it can be an expensive $5/10 game if varience is bad for you. However, if your hands hold up, you will get paid off every time by these donkeys. The $10/20 game plays only slightly better than the $5/10, so if you have the roll that is the better games since the rake is the same. (Almost all 5/10 hands hit the $6 mark)There is usually a long list since the most they have is 6 tables, so if you can't get there in the day and wait a bit for a table, on Fri, Sat, and Sun, it's hard to get a seat there. It's better to hit up resorts or trump since they spread more games.

Ill meet ya for a beer and dinner before my class that starts at 6:15. PM me if your interested when the time draws near.

Timdog1010 0
BUMP!I've bought my airline tickets. I'll be arriving in Rosemont on Sunday, April 23rd and looking to head to the casino on either Monday the 24th or Tuesday the 25th during the day (my nights are probably spoken for). I think I've settled on the Hollywood Casino in Aurora for now. Anyone who's interested in some drinking & gambling on those days can pm me.Rhinestone -I'll be in touch...
