Need Comments On This Hand

Recommended Posts

How would you play this hand?8/16 super tight game where high pairs were taking down a lot of pots. My friend has A-Q spades in the big blind. A middle postion tight player raised and two others call as well my friend. The flop came out 7-8-K with two of the cards spades. So my friend has a flush draw. My friend checked with the tight player bets with one of the guys calling and my friend calls. The turn was a 2 of clubs! My friend checked, the two other guys bet and my friend called. Should he have bet first with a flush draw? The river comes out a 4 of spades for the nut flush. My friend bets and the other guys bet and muck their hands after seeing my friends flush. Any comments on how this hand should be played?

This was the most boring part of the story, yet you made it sound so exciting!Oh, and it kind of seemed to me that they should have picked up on your friend being on the draw.. Maybe he should have re-raised pre-flop to get the strength of everyone elses hands.. Chances are a sizeable bet wouldn't have kept everyone in, then he could come out betting after the flop having the nut flush draw.. And if he got re-raised after the flop, then he's obviously up against a monster and needs to decide whether he's getting good odds to call.It would really help to have more information, such as how many chips each of these guys had, what the blinds were, what the raises were, etc..ps. you might get more responses if you posted this in the strategy forum.

I'm pretty sure this is a limit game.We don't need stack info, unless someone is almost out.It doesn't sound like a tight game, with two cold callers preflop.AQs has enough equity in the games I play to 3-bet preflop, but, if he thinks MP caps and we lose someone, then call is cool. He's in good relative pos the rest of the handI play it the same on flop. I would c/r the flop if we were still 4 handed when it got back to me.The turn: why lead here? We are 20% to hit with only 2 other coming along, at best. So, check call is goodI c/r river.Post in Limit section of Strategy forum. You'll get real answers.
