This is an interesting hand...I think you should post just the flop action first.I think the flop is a raise, or fold. He could be betting a flush draw, or he could be betting the ace. We have the nut bdfd, so raising may not be terrible here.I think the responses may be affected by the rest of the hand being posted though, so everyone needs to look at this objectively. What do we do when we have KK, an Ace flops, and we are donked to?Do you have a read on the BB? That would help a lot.- Zach

Ah crap.I meant to delete the river action....I delete it out from the flop on. BB stats are on top.

Since the BB is pretty tight, I don't like raising the flop. Most of the time, we'll just get three-bet and have to peel for our bd flush draws. Other times, we just fold worse hands that we'd like to keep betting at us.Raising that turn is bad. You fold 1010-QQ but lose the maximum versus Ax most of the time. (When he posts the turn card, you can be amazed at my ESP)My line would be call/call/call, and bet if checked to.

I always forget about wa/wb, but what if he's doing this with a flush draw, which is very possible given his taggish stats. We are making it cheaper for him to draw. Is raising that bad?

Also we're getting about 9.25:2.5 in effective odds, or 3.7:1, so our equity needs to be around 21%, which it is against a hypothetical BB range (AA-1010, AKs)So folding is out of the question. Raising is also bad.

What flush draw do you see him having, Zach?

given the play of the hand, i think you can include AKo in that range, if the guy has ever watched TV :club: i agree though - MP3 fold means we cannot, though by the river bet i'm pretty sure we lose.i think his range here is TT-AA, AK, AQs. pot size, etc - folding is a mistake, and i don't think raising gets us any value or increased playability.

Ah...good call. I didn't see he capped it. He's not capping it with Qxs, or anything less, usually. After reviewing the hand, and some replies, and realizing that BB capped it, I think we can safely use the wa/wb line here.Now... I know the OP took down the rest of the hand, but I have a question at the river, of how many bets to go, when he finishes it off.- Zach

Do we pay off a river sexy? i think so. it sucks royal ass though.I definitely dont raise the flop or turn given that MP3 folded. If some limper donked the flop into me i'd probably raise, bet the turn and take a free showdown. Someone who caps preflop has defined his hand so well that even htough it isnt a way ahead way behind board, we can treat it as one. We want to lose the minimum against better hands and not intimidate worse ones. The turn is the best thing short of a king you could have hoped for. You now know that it's (from a numerical standpoint) less likely that he has an ace, and he'll think the same think of your hand.If the river comes a deuce of hearts though, given how well defined his hand range is, can we raise? We'd probably have to fold to a 3bet, but i dont think there's any risk in folding a winner with a board like that. For a hand range of jacks up plus AK, we're ahead more often than we're behind and we almost always get called by any lower hole pair at the river.

That turn makes we want to call even more, if you're implying a fold. Since i never see when the wa/wb while IM playing, this looks exactly like one.

I call the turn and raise a safe looking river. QQ JJ TT will pay you off and is an easy fold to a 3 bet.Id probably only raise any non club 9 or lower, call a bet, or bet if checked to on the river.Easy turn call though.

Why raise the river? You can't call a 3-bet (or shouldn't, anyway) and will likely fold out QQ-TT, if villain has a brain. I'm going with call/call/call/nh on this one.

QQ-TT calls here more often than not, but yea you're right its probably not worth the risk. Been playin way too many NL multis, not in the limit sort of mind.Call down
