Kuge 0 Posted February 20, 2006 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Well, last night was quite the most odd poker night I've ever had. Sunday afternoon I decided to join a $3 NLHE tourney on PS. While I was going to sign up for that tourney, I looked at a couple of other tournaments going on at the same time. So then I clicked out of them and joined the tourney and then closed all the windows because my gf was hassling me on watching tv with her until the tourney started.Anyways, when the tourney began it seemed like I was playing at an aggressive table. About the 5th hand of the tourney I went all-in and tripled up to about 4500 chips. Then I noticed on the chat this one guy kept rebuying for $5. I think noticed the tournament lobby and it said "$5 rebuy satillite to $1,000,000 guarenteed Sunday". I had joined the wrong tournament and I was feeling pretty pissed/stupid.I did survive the first hour and top 20 ended up winning a entry into the sunday tourney. Oddly enough, I was still alive. And I did actually survive and I did win the satillite ticket many hours later. I was pretty happy that I didn't lose my $5 (yeah I'm a cheap bastard).The problem with this is that I have no intention of playing this sundays million dollar tournament on stars (I'm usually on the road during this time).So, what do I do now? Which sites allow me to sell my ticket for the most money? Or maybe I can do some kind of deal with someone I know (like I stake them half the buy-in for 25% of winnings or something)...I don't know. I'm also bitter from some bad beats by dumb luck a$$holes who call everything, draw out on you and think they are good. I need to get over this hump of crap luck. Is it all poker gods? No, I've donked some off, also.Won't stop me from being a bitch, but maybe it gives some perspective. I know there are those who know how I feel. Wingmaster05 0 Posted February 20, 2006 Share Posted February 20, 2006 The idea of playing satellites to massive tournies like this is cool if you can hit it big, but frankly I would stay away from all these satellites unless you have complete confidence in your game.I've been satelliting (< prob. not a word...) into the 750K for a while now and unless i get lucky, I'm going to have to do this for while to even out the swings, and that's assuming im playing a sound game. 5000+ people! i think you can spend your money better on other venues (at least for the low limit players out there). I'm not just gonna give up because I'm in a tourney I didn't want to play. I was just aiming for the ticket due to the fact that I can sell it and I might as well try to get something out of a stupid mistake. I played my ass off and I'm pretty satisifed with my result.I'm pretty sure I'll just sell the ticket, I wouldn't mind the T$, but I only play about 4-5 PS tourneys a week(thats pretty low for me) , I've been leaning towards cash games in the past few weeks so cashing the ticket in seems to be my best option at this point.
