ak continuation bet

Recommended Posts

original raiser is a "taz" (LAA), sb is a "dice" (LAP). How do I get the villain's stats as they were during the hand played? I can view his total stats...but as of now i just scribble down what they were.i don't really see a continuation bet working here nearly enough to be worth it...who concurs?Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cxPreflop: Hero is BB with [Ad], [Ks]. 4 folds, MP3 calls, SB calls.Flop: (9 SB) [8h], [Th], [7s] (3 players)SB checks, hero checks

Yeah, that's a pretty coordinated flop, and it missed our hand completely. With there being another preflop raiser in there, checking may not be too bad.- Zach

I bet the flop. You'll often have the best hand here.
It's not that I might have the best hand here, but with two loose villains, one of them being very aggressive, I don't see any hands that these guys didn't connect with the flop somehow. and most will call/raise a bet on the flop without a hand yet.

with 3 I'll make the bet usually.Mp3 may raise and you get HU often, and can call turn getting 7.5 : 1Fold river UI.They both may fold, not like it has to happen oftenThey both may be drawing now and fold turnI fire turn UI against SB and may check behind against LAA, and call his river bet UI.3 way to turn, I'd check

This hand's not going to be easy to play no matter what you do. But I think checking sucks - if you check, MP bets, and SB calls, now what? Fold what could easily be the best hand? Call, and still have no idea where you stand?I agree that your bet has little chance of getting someone to make a bad fold on the flop. But I'm betting to: 1. Get value for the hand if it is ahead. While your opponents are likely to either have pairs or live draws, I think you have the best hand fairly often here.2. Keep the pressure on. You 3-bet preflop from the BB; they have to fear that you could have an overpair, and you might get them to fold incorrectly on a brick turn if they don't fold now.3. Force them to react. One of them may fold and simplify things for you, and if they stay, you'll get some information based on whether they call or raise, which may help your decision-making.4. Metagame- If you end up showing the hand down, you might get more action on your overpairs later on.

after 3 betting preflop I say you have to bet the flop, keep the lead and represent a big hand.by 3 betting and checking the villians are putting you on exactly what you have and will try to steal the pot from you on the turn if an Ace of King does not hit.If you wanted to play careful against two loose opponents then you should not 3 bet preflop and wait to see if you hit the flopjust my opinion

I was trying to open myself to new things... in practice, I will almost always bet this.- Zach

ok I was hoping to hear some checkers, but alas, no. In reality I bet it without really thinking and the taz auto raised, probably without really thinking (in a different sense i hope), and I felt stuck. MNG is right, this hand is rarely ever going to be fun to play.

so yuo ended up HU with a TAZ?things could be a lot worse than that.
Yeah, I don't mind that. Looking back, that just might be what I'm trying to accomplish by betting here... depends on his specific tendancies, though.- Zach

My problem with these hands are when a brick comes on the turn and you're first to act against the TAZ. Say the 2h comes on the turn. So, what do people normally do then? Do you raise again because often you have the best hand? or is this a c/c or c/f? I get confused by the wide range of hands that taz may have and will raise with....Thoughts?

I would c/c turn. Pot is now 6.5 BBI would c/f river UI.I'd look him up on the river, if he's real tazzy
