two or three pair in plo cash game

Recommended Posts

I see people calling raises with two pair or sometimes three pair and I just think this is a big mistake. even if there is no str8 or flush possible, anyone with sense with only raise with a set or a very strong draw to the nuts. what do you guys think?

This is why Omaha is profitable. :club: You want idiots to call raises with 2 pair. In general, I agree with you...I fold 2 pair to significant flop pressure. You'll need to fill up to win usually.

It depends on who is doing the original raise IMO. I agree that many a two pair (especially top and bottom AND bottom two) aren't very worthy, but top two pair can be played for a profit against some opponents (I play on FCP, and there is this one guy who shall remain nameless who bets EVERY flop). Also, depending on your other cards and how they fit into the board, I would definately call some raises (ie. lets say we flopped top two pair but we also have a backdoor nut-flush draw and maybe a backdoor straight draw). To simply say that you should never call with two pair (or three pair, OR the dreaded 4 pair) would be wrong IMO.Look at decisions, not results. :club:
