Gigabet's posts at 2+2.
This would be -EV at OPs level. Gigabet's posts are generally so poorly written that it takes hours of reading and rereading and interpreting to even understand what he intended to say (and he does little to clarify very pertinent questions about what he is really saying).Once you do understand what he intended to say the concepts are usually obvious (his "block theory"), nearly impossible to apply (the follow up to "gigabets dilemma") or self aggrandizing (the original "Gigabets dilemma). The obivious ones take too long to decipher and more knowledge can be gained in the time that takes by reading other books or just playing.I'm not saying he isn't a poker savant, thinking at a much deeper level than most of us can hope to attain (any more than most of us can hope to pick up a golf club for the first time at age 40 and become a scratch golfer). But, like most savants, he is unable (or sometimes, I expect, unwilling) to communicate at a level the rest of us can understand.I would contrast that with Fossilman's early threads at 2+2 that are insightful and practical. I fully expect his book to be as important to us hacks as HOH I and II.

In regards to the 'levels', I notice them. Kind of like revelations. But anyway, how to get to the next one. 1. Think - about the game, a lot.2. Play - tournaments, a lot, and concentrate when you do.3. Read/Discuss - try the mtt thread

Stop playing so many friggin tournaments at once. I know you're doin it so dont lie!!! Haha. Anyway, I used to play 5-6 tournaments at one time, and while this is fine for a limit cash game: it really hinders your game in NL Holdem. I think 2 MAYBE 3 tournaments if you REALLY want to be in all three of them are the maximum that you should be playing. They just require so much more attention, and you'll have so many more decisions based on previous action by a player. I remember when I was multi tabling I thought that was the next level, when I could play a bunch at once and still click right! But really, you need to just limit the intake your brain is getting in NLHE tournaments, and limit it even more for any nonholdem games.

My tourney game has moved to "the next level". For me, the next level is that I actually occasionally make it to the final table. I'm not a pro by any means, but here's what turned me from a losing tourney player to a modest winner:Stay out of trouble until the bubble nears. Simple as that. For me, my problem was betting weak made hands out of position on the flop/turn, and getting either outplayed, or beat by better hands. To stay out of trouble, I've made a few adjustments. In EP, I basically dont limp. If I cant raise it, I fold it, and I dont call re-raises from EP without a premium holding. I check/fold most flops whereas I used to bet/fold or bet/call things like middle pair. Before bluffing, I have to be able to answer yes to the following 3 questions:1) Do I have position?2) Do I sense weakness?3) Do I have outs if I get called?Everything changes if my stack goes below about 8 BB, or when things tighten up near the bubble. Sometimes specific player reads take precedence, but in general, this is how I survive to the bubble.

developing instinct and trusting it.
This is humongous. Try playing more live sitngos with buddies, etc.; you can get better by playing anyone in tourneys, while that is not necessarily the case in cash games. Easier to read online tourneys than cash games as well. Also, be as absolutley manipulative as you can. Play the mind game. MAKE your opponents put you on certain hands. Show down suited connectors/drawing hands for cheap and then play the exact same way when you flop a monster Bet the same every time or never bet the same amount twice. And TRUST your instincts.
