I just finished watching the show and just have the following to add, "I PLAY GOOOT!" I felt like I played awesome throughout that show. Poker skill truly shows in the way losing hands are played and I had a lot of tough decisions but thought I did well with them.
Hey Mr. Negreanu, I saw you today on the same show. You played pretty good. Anyways, I think it's great that you actually post in this forum. Keep up the great work.
pucker up

after Sammy hit his K on the river ,,didn't he ask Barry if he wants to run it 2 times.!why would Barry not agree to it. Or he has too much money and was worth the risk ?

It wasnt on the river, it was on the flop if I remember correctly. And as soon as that flop came out my jaw dropped, what as sick feeling for Barry.

Poker is such a cruel game though. I mean we can see Daniel make every big decision right and he was still down over 200,000 for the game. Congrats on the great play Daniel, it really is amazing. So do you think players are going to try to adjust how they act in different situations now that the cards are shown and the other players can know what they had, how they acted and whether they made the right decision?

1 - someone shoot me if i ever jump onto a forum and post that daniel negreanu made a first grade level board reading mistake without first fcking verifying i was even right.and it wouldnt have just been daniel; every one of the world class poker players in that room were reading the board because they were interested to see who won the pot. so they would all had to have missed it. before you post, take a second to think.2 - my statement was that the greenstein-farha hand is the reason i dont play NL cash games. i didnt say i couldnt beat NL cash games. i didnt say NL cash games are all luck or any other ridiculous statement. i simply made a statement that i would feel very unsatisfied if, after hours of work grinding a succesful session, i had to lose it all in that way. im sure there are very many people who agree, many of whom are not 'dumb' as u put it.  you seem to be the kind of person who speaks before [or without] thinking.  stopping for a minute before you speak [or post] will help you make more sense.  good luck.
Ummm... AA vs. KK = 4 to 1 preflop. Barry was correct to call and will win with that hand over time. He gave up 150K this time but will win 3-4x that over time. Unless Farha was 100% sure that Barry had AA his call was correct, too. I know I would not be able to get away from that hand.

I loved it...don't feel bad for Barry. He makes a quarter off of every box of Count Chocula sold. So he should have that money back in about the same time it takes him to grow that thing he calls a beard.

I think Barry lost a little over $190,000 for the entire hand.Barry would have to be crazy not to run it twice after that flop came out.I can only think that sammy was teasing barry and that sammy's offer was not binding had barry said, "Yes."Anyone know if sammy's offer would have been considered binding?

Not binding, no consideration was given, plus anything offered over $500 must be a written contract. I know this because I took a business law exam 3 hours ago.

That last hand was unbelievable! Not just because it was AA vs. KK, but I actually thought that Sammy might lay it down. That would have been SICK if he had. He pondered for like 5 minutes on it. I don't think there was any way that he was deciding whether to call or push. There's no way a player like Sammy is going to call half his stack pre-flop with KK. I think he was seriously considering laying it down! Now, I know all the people on this forum who say NEVER EVER, EVER lay down KK pre-flop. The odds that you're up against AA is so low. That might be true in a tournament against a short stack with high blinds. But in a cash game against a raise and a re-raise and an all-in on the last hand of the session. There are a very limited number of hands that Barry would push against a re-raise pre-flop against another relatively equal stack to him. He's got to have AA or KK and since Sammy had KK, hard to put Barry on the 2 case K's. Sammy had to have a pretty good idea of what Barry had and was really considering laying it down. Now, how Barry wouldn't have taken Sammy up on his offer to run it twice after Sammy felt bad about sucking out on him is beyond me. That is definitely -EV. At that point Barry was a 9-1 dog and to not take Sammy up on his offer to run it twice, that's just dumb, but it does show a lot of integrity if Barry has a rule about never running it more than once. He definitely gave away a lot of equity there.

I hate to do it, but... I have not seen any of the episodes.  Is there way I can catch all five - specifically download all five?  Time-Warner doesn't offer GSN in my package. I'd rather watch them in order, so if there's a dvd in the making, I will wait for that if I have to. But if there is a way it  can be downloaded somewhere, let me know. And I have no idea what a torrent is, but I have a feeling I will figure it out.  So I won't litter this topic with anymore of the technical posts or whatever.Much appreciated
I have Time Warner in NYC (brooklyn) and we get GSN. It's listed in the lineup as "GAME" on 117 here.I do have to say I was impressed with Daniel's play. When I read the blogs he wrote after the taping I thought he might have donked it up as he kept saying 'I played some of the best poker of my life, but still lost $100K last night' But it looked pretty impressive to me. The 10's vs. sammy's Aces on a 9 high board laydown was pretty sick (I think it was 9 high, I don't remember any over cards on the board). I thought he would make the call since it is so hard to put sammy on a hand. The Jerry Buss laydown was easier but still solid.I also enjoyed seeing Barry get gutted on that river card, so much for the profit from his own earlier suckouts.I was dissapointed though that Todd didn't rearrange Sheiky's face. I pictured Todd picking him up after knocking him out and letting Sammy kick him in the nuts a couple of times.

hell of a laydown with the 10-10, one thing this show has taught me is to not push a lot of chips at marginal situations.

wha?...4 to 1?....long run?....wha dat mean? thank you mr. einstein, i understand odds, i understand long run, and im quite sure i know the odds of 2 preflop hands better than you.my point was that in NL you have tremendously increased volitility, and that i'd rather be happy at the end of a day that i grinded a steady profit than i would having done a full day of work only to see it all go in one hand. let me ask you this, if barry was the one with the KK and sammy had the AA, do you think all the money would not have ended up in the middle of the table? why do i want my whole stack in the middle preflop due to a cold deck?

DN you made some stellar lay downs in my opinion. I was lookin at my wife on the 10 10 thing saying, i really think id probably have lost a lot more money there. Laying down the JJ almost immediately to Buss was pretty impressive too. I guess knowing how he plays helps, but i don't think id have done it so automatically.I saw you make some pretty marginal calls and bets, for instance betting out with KJ on a board of all under cards. I didn't really get that one, but im sure you had your reasons at the time. Anywya..im in agreement that this the single best poker show on TV.

Excellent quote! It had me laughing. I love the fact that Shawn is the whipping boy and he brings it all on himself.

LoL...i missed that, I guess I'm gonna have to hit up the torrents to catch some of this stuff. Sheik is the one person that I genuinely hate in poker. Maybe he's a ok guy away from that table but he just is an asshole at it. Other's like Matusow, Hellmuth, and Tony G. can be annoying but I find a way to laugh at them from time to time.

So that's why I love Count Chocula Cereal, Barry's up about $325 off me this year.
