I have 2 guys to my left that are very active. Really difficult to steal. They are both the chip leaders at my table.I think limping and trying to keep the pot small as possible is the way to go. Trapping with big hands would probably work better.Suggestions?

man.. why did I have to get 10's when the dude has k's:lol:Im still pissed off...especially cuz the guy said "damn" a few seconds before he called me. Made me think he had AK or something. Then I get the horrible tease open ended str8 flush draw on the turn, and blank the river. Anyway, GL to everyone that made it to day two. I'll rail whenever I wake up tomorrow.

i'm still in, i have about 37K that puts me in 82nd i think, i made 2 bad plays all day and got rivered once by 96 with my AK, that hurt a little.  I made some solid moves tho and i am in good shape to at least get paid.sn 10K-in-Clay
I'm in a similar situation, any advice anyone? (Preferably from someone who has big tournament success) Have below average stack. Can't really afford to sit back and wait for a big hand or I'll get blinded off. I have 2 big stacks to my left who always defends their blind. Yesterday I hoped to limp more and trap with big hands. It worked, one guy doubled me up twice. Now with esculating blinds that strategy won't work.

Man, I am so frustrated.I played so poorly to turn my 10k into 2k. I got up during a break and took a walk and came back playing smart poker. I was kept alive by an aggressive player to my right who had the early chip lead. He literally potted it anytime multiple limpers came to him. I went over the top a few times with junk and he folded and that got me going. I doubled up a few times and then made a big call with QQ on a board of KQ94T. The guy had called me down (I raised preflop and bet out) and put a big bet in when the 10 hit the river. Anyhow, I called his big bet (which would've eft me crippled) and he turned over 99.My table broke, which bummed me out because the aggressive guy was feeding me chips and everyone else was pretty weak, but I moved to a horrible table. I pretty quickly went from 16k to 38k before making a horrible play.Earlier in the day, I raised with KK and an UTG limper called. The board came down Q9x. I bet and was called. The turn was a blank. I bet again and he called. The river was a 10. My gut instinct was Q10 suited the entire way, so I folded to a decent bet. This hand, I had AA and made it 2000 (300-600 blinds). I was called in two spots. The flop was 7-5-3. They checked, I fired out 4500 and the SB check-raised me to 9000. Every bit out of me was saying fold, but I finally convinced myself that he does the same thing with 88-KK. I pushed and of course he turned over 77.That left me in fold or push mode and I got it all in with 77 against 99 and lost, but I had already shot myself in the foot at that point.Oh well. Good luck to everyone remaining!

I got knocked out on the first day, fourth hour...Poor stack management was the real reason for my downfall, but it went something like this (at the tightest effing table I've ever seen):Went down to under 2K chips in the fourth hour. Double up on something to 3500, then got pocket A's. Doubled up again to about 7K. Very next hand I get pocket K's. I smooth call and one guy stays in besides me. Flop comes down J T 7 rainbow. Buddy goes all-in! I think for about two seconds and call, going with my gut that he didn't have A's or trip up on the board. I was right, but he did have pocket 8's, giving him a gutshot draw. Sure enough, a 9 falls on the turn filling the str8. No Q on the river leaves me crippled and I went out a few hands later on a coin toss.I'm not bitter, just wanted to tell my story. Looking forward to the next big thing, with many lessons learned.Cheers, y'all.
