popeye18 0
Sometimes when i am playing 10 handed at a limit table online 3 or 4 people will all of a sudden get out. Then it is 5 or 6 handed. My question is should i play 5 or 6 handed and adjust my game till more people join or should i find another table that is full?

Emptyeye 0
Five or six-handed is usually my personal limit for a minimum at a table...anything lower than that and I leave and find another table.Again, though, if you think you can take the shorthanded game, go for it. firstyearclay 0
I multi table 4 tables for eight hours a day online. I look for certain requirements before I sit down. One of them is if the table breaks down to six or less I am out unless I see the seats filling. Reason being I know that my profits are higher when the table is full because I am up against 33-36 other opponents and hand values pretty much stay the same. In a short handed game, more concentration should be given to that table, and since I have to concentrate on four games evenly I feel that I cannot properly distribute 40% to one table and 20/20/20 to the other three and be profitable. I want to evenly distribute myself. If I am in a bigger game and it is short handed and I am at one table, I tend to not care because I can sincerely concentrate. I think personally i am very strong with 3 opponents or 7 or higher. My heads up game is below average. Thats just my take.
popeye18 0
Just out of curiosity firstyearclay, what site and limit do you play at? And also how are you doing at that limit?
firstyearclay 0
5/10 up to 15/30 when I get daring LOL. Eurobet and I make about 1k to 2k a week on average plus rakeback which is usually about $11-$13 an hour. I put in a session two weeks ago that was 35 hours long. (with a couple dog walking breaks and eating and pooping) I was on Supertilt and determined to break even, I did and paid for it for three days. Poker players do the dumbest chit sometimes. NormanHaupt 0
I love shorthanded, I really really open my game up and I can usually run the table pretty effectively. The pots stay small, and the table dries up maybe 10 minutes later, but if I was losing, I recoop thosel osses- and if I win, well, its more money.I can usually count on an upswing shorthand

TheMathProf 0
I'll play six-handed (sometimes, other times I won't), but once it hits five, I'll stop posting my blinds, play out until my BB comes around, and look for a new table.I also am four-tabling usually, and I usually notice pretty quickly when it gets short-handed, because that window pops up like eight times in a row. I appreciate your input on playing 4 tables and the advantage of full tables. I typically three table and alternate days between playing two full tables and one 6-player table, and vice versa. I was going through my records this morning and realized that I'm earning more BB on days when I play 2 full tables. I'll have to track this more to see if there is any basis to this observation, but I find it interesting. I consider myself a competant short handed player, but maybe it is in fact more profitable to multitable with only full tables.
mangwansi 0
When I'm four, five-tabling, I'll usually leave a table once 7 players remain, unless the remaining 6 are absolutely horrid players. Even 8 is cutting it close. The reason for this is because shorthanded play requires close to 100% of your attention and maintaining aggressiveness at the right spots, and knowing when to slow down. You simply can't achieve that when you're four-tabling. If you're looking to make money in the long run, sit 10-handed, play premium hands, and play tightaggressive.I personally like shorthanded tables from time to time; I find it fits my aggressive peoplereading skill much better. I racked up about 700 in one night playing six-handed 24. The variance, however, can be quite violent and I suggest you only try this if you're very skilled at postflop play and are capable of laying down hands. Your stubbornness in shorthanded play can cost you a lot of money; there are times when raising with bottom pair is right, and there are times when it's worst play in the history of mankind. Your flaws in your limit game can also be compounded heavily in shorthanded play, as you are playing many more hands and can go on tilt much easier. You just need to pay attention.
