KowboyKoop 0
so you are saying that seattle lost just becuase of the refs, or at least mostly? The refs totally changed the complexion of the game; we'll never know how things would've turned out.theres only 2 calls that you can really dispute. if one of them went the other way the steelers still probly would have scored on 4th and inches. if not the seahawks would have to start on their own 1 yard line. and the holding call, what are you gonna do? it was a bad call but those kinds of calls happen in almost every game. say what if all you want but the steelers played better and they won. There was another one where I'm not sure about. On Darrell Jackson's 2nd "almost" touchdown, he caught the ball with one foot in bounds and the 2nd foot clearly landed out of bounds. However, that 2nd foot barely touched the pylon. What is the rule on that? I haven't heard many people talking about it, but I did hear one sports show say that if the foot hits the pylon it is considered in bounds. If that's true, then that's another TD taken away from Seattle. They didn't even review that one I don't think. Hardly any replays shown on it, if I recall. I wouldn't doubt that being another missed call against Seattle.

thrope 0
and i still need to see a replay of the "hold" that brought back the pass to the 1, because it looked like there was a BLATANT offsidse on the defense to start that play
KowboyKoop 0
Phantom hold huh....Actually....yeah...just about every person I have heard review that exact footage thinks that that is not a hold. I mean...the Pitt player still almost gets to the Qb........that's not really holding, that exact thing happens every single play. So, I agree with...EVERYONE else. That's not a hold, just blocking. So what if they start on their one yard line it's still a 3-0 game. About the Steelers outplaying Seattle check out these stats:Seattle is on the left and Pitt is on the right1st Downs 20 14 3rd down efficiency 5-17 8-15 4th down efficiency 1-2 0-0 Total Yards 396 339 Passing 259 158 Comp-Att 26-49 10-22 Yards per pass 5.3 7.2 Rushing 137 181 Rushing Attempts 25 33 Yards per rush 5.5 5.5 Penalties 7-70 3-20 Turnovers 1 2 Fumbles lost 0 0 Interceptions thrown 1 2 Possession 33:02 26:58 So who outplayed who? Any of these teams could beat eachother on any given day it just turned out Pittsburgh won this game. It would be interesting to see the game played with a neutral fan base instead of the 30 million Bettis fans. Regardless the Steelers won and thats all there is to say about that but the game still blew nutsack.

Pupsta 0
it's really comical listening to people whine about the two or three calls that were "questionable" (that was a hold, ben was in, djackson pushed off) and they would have COMPLETELY CHANGED the game. whatever...who's to say seattle scores from the 1? who's to say that big ben doesn't respond to that with a fire under his ass and drives 80 yards to respond, putting seattle on their heels?the refs didn't blow the game, holmgren did, and now he's looking for a scapegoat. all that said, i respect doug quite a bit for not whining about the refs. Those calls were a lot more than questionable. If they were "questionable," the media wouldn't be talking about it more than they are talking about the actual win. B. ONCE AGAIN....noone is saying Seattle would have definitely won if the calls had been different. It would have changed the game without a doubt, and there is no telling what would have happened. C. Yeah, holmgren had a real bad game too. That's why we aren't blaming the refs only. They f*cked up, 95 percent of people who watched the game know it, and all I/we are saying is that it was a factor.
