the official the refs are getting paid thread

What is so sad is that the Steeler haters would have said if the Seahwaks got the same calls and WON that it was not luck but great playing. Even with all the so called bad calls, the Seahawks looked flat, and the Steelers looked flat also. But to say that the Seahawks are a better team is all jealousy. So sad all the so called "sportsminds" on this forum cant admit to a bad game by the Hawks and the Steelers dug down deep for a win. Where was the great Defense on the Parker run and the Randel El pass? Must have been holding somewhere right?sbxl_postgame4_L_62430.jpg

1. Roth did get the ball over the line2. that was a hold in the end zone3. the phantom hold and phantom clipping were just two bad calls...and relatively inconsequential at that. they in no way decided the game. :boohoo:

1) flag thrown for a shot to the head on Ward early in the game... and then, mysteriously, there's no foul. You threw the flag for a reason. It's a penalty, and everyone saw on the replay a shot to the head.2) On the long interception return, CLEARLY a block in the back when Roethlisberger got blocked. That brings the ball back to near mid-field, rather than being around the 20. HUGE difference.Steelers won though, so nobody is mentioning those. Bad calls go both ways in every game. Deal with it.

I saw those. The back block really was a bad foul.

Actually, the flag was for helmet to helmet contact. It's not illegal to contact someone's helmet with your shoulder, which is what the seahawk did. It's clear from the replays that picking up the flag was the right decision.

Yes, but the missed block in the back? That should have been a foul too. Had the Seahawks scored, that would have been a penalty that would have been talked about as well.

The Seahawks did score, and made it a 4 point game at the time.

i just watched the game again and i take back what i said. there were not 2 obviously bad calls. there was one. the "phantom" hold was anything but. Locklear clearly grabs Haggans' jersey and drags him to the ground as he's coming around the edge.

I'm going to say it was thrown because from the angle the ref that threw the flag was at, it looked like forearm to head contact, which IS illegal. When the refs got together, one with another angle said he didn't contact his head with the forearm. So, they made the CORRECT call and picked up the flag.

As a Seattle fan, all I have to say is in the picture below.Superbowlfraud.jpgWhy are we all so upset anyway? Is it because we got our hopes up when we of all people should have known before the game there was NO WAY anyone was going to let us win. Darryl Jackson said it right "It's hard to win when they send the world against you." Are we really that naive to think we stood a chance to start with? Has this not happened to us so many times before where the league, refs, etc. screw us out of a sure win? And I'm not even a conspiracy theorist in anything else, but I am when it comes to Seattle sports franchises. The last thing anyone could stand in this country is if a team from Seattle (or Washington state) won a national championship in anything. It's just that we are dumb enough to think we'll be given a fair shake every year and like that puppy that continually gets smacked on top of the head and is told to go away, we dutifully return every time just so we can get smacked again. It's sickening the torture we put ourselves through. Never again will I be duped ... at least until next time.

Yeah, I'm not saying it was bad. I'm just making sure we have the right calls in this thread.
