missIdaho 1
If you can't say something good, then say something to make it good.Meaning, if you criticize, offer a solution so that the thing you are critical can actually transform.Kill yourself. seriously. That's my solution. You're not looking to stay around here much longer are you?
mbreon 0
OP is just scary. If you really think these are the best poker forums, where there is like 1 guy that plays 10/20 and a bunch of other donks that cant beat .50/1 LHE, then you are retarded and bad at poker and you probably play hands like T7o all the time.I still find it absolutely stupid that people would be "fans" of professional poker players. Spend more time working on your game and getting good. Spend less time writing up these huge gay hero worship posts about a gambler's fashion sense.Ahh...the joys of being 16-17 and not knowing shit about anything. If you don't like this forum, then why are you wasting your time here? When I was 16 I spent all my time drinking and trying to get laid - you are spending it posting on an internet forum that you don't even like....I felt a few brain cells pop when I read your last paragraph....people are fans of pro poker players the same way they are fans of pro football or basketball players: because it is more interesting to watch when you are cheering for somebody. Why would you cheer for a basketball player or team when you could be outside practicing? Because the game takes a new level of interest when you develop likes/dislikes towards people that play it. Not like we're talking quantum physics here.....
mrdannyg 274
 "writing crusade" seems about right. wow.basically, i just wanted to point out that compliments are much more meaningful if they are given objectively. listing 10 compliments and no criticisms takes away from the value of the compliments. No it doesn't. Why do you have to critisize some one in order to compliment them? You must have grown up in a real fun household. jsSometimes overlooking some ones faults is the greatest compliment you can give.i didn't say (or didn't mean to say) you have to criticize someone in order to compliment them, just that listing in glowing terms a whole bunch of compliments, without even mentioning a criticism implies that you aren't looking at the person objectively. which in turns means that your compliments take on lesser value, than if they were made objectively, by considering their faults as well.in response to your point, i was saying theresa was not overlooking his faults (a virtue) but either not considering them, or rationalizing them. neither of those reflects positively on the objectiveness of her opinion.i think your final statement is not really pertinent. sometimes that is a great compliment, but i don't think theresa's post was meant to make DN feel good, or boost his self-confidence. personally, if i am being complimented, it has much more value if i know those compliments are being given, with my faults taken into consideration as well.and the comment about my household was out of line. it may or may not have been overly critical (hard to compare), but we are all very happy, well-rounded, successful people. "fun" was probably not a huge priority."daniel

Longshanks 0
I kinda agree with him, theresas post was all right but then the next 27 posts were "I agree" and "well said" and some "daniel is god" I like daniel too but at least add to OP, not type "im a sheep" or "im the biggest fan"I too find it absolutely astounding and shocking that there are so many Daniel Negreanu fans on a forum that was created by Daniel Negreanu. This is the kind of news that stops traffic.as usual my point is missed completely, my point was people arent adding anything, im not saying its ok to love the guy just dont post redundant crap saying "I agree" this isnt AIM, add something when you post

This post was suppose to be kind of fun and light hearted. Oh well, what do I know?well i'll keep my opinions to myself on this. i'm voicing relatively serious opinions on the bare issues just because i like having discussions on things like that (though i seem to be mostly alone in that). not because it relates in any way to DN - i'm not contradicting any of the reasons, since DN is obviously the greatest. Kid DynOmite 0
That might have been the gheyest thing Ive ever read in my entire life. I mean Im guessing your a chick and all because there is a picture of a girl in your avatar who is not a hot chick a dude would post, but are you for real? You should immediately put on some kind of watch list. Someone should seriously call the FBI. This has to be simialar to the kind of stuff that was happening with Selena before she was knocked off.yeah, it was really ghey. i mean just sooo ghey. just really really really ghey... i mean almost as ghey as using the word ghey. I do agree with you on one thing, we should start knocking people off... mainly the morons who infect the general poker forum with their stupid responses...specifically those who use the word "ghey".Nice post btw. I like reason #2

Sorry guy, I'm not your typical fanboy here that has to suck up to a metrosexual canadian bible-thumper to feel cool.If you don't like this forum, then why are you wasting your time here?because it's fun to laugh at people that are just so bad at poker and life. really. it's kinda sad but i mean guys like you kinda pay the bills of guys like me. well, guys like you with more money and a penchant for crazy gambling at 10/20 and 15/30.people are fans of pro poker players the same way they are fans of pro football or basketball players: because it is more interesting to watch when you are cheering for somebody. This is stupid for a couple reasons. People are fans of pro football or basketball players because they are mostly from the town that that player represents. It's a team thing. the game takes a new level of interest when you develop likes/dislikes towards people that play it.Not really. Instead of being a 30-year old fanboy, go read some books and learn how to clean up on these games. Seriously. Learning how to make $200 / hr playing it gives the game a "new level of interest." I really doubt that I am the type of person who "pays your bills". In the games that I play, the ones who brag the most always seem to do the worst, but perhaps you are an exception. But to each their own, if you are such a great player, then our strategy section would surely benefit from you posting some hand histories. Pointless arguing over the internet isn't really in my realm of interest, but if you ever decide to add something productive, then I'll read it. I'm going to go continue being bad at poker and at life.
