SHOTPUTSTAR 0
Anyone else in Canada notice this little channel pop up? Virtually 24/7 poker. Absolutely Awesome.!

MikePatrick 0
what cable system and channelOn Rogers it's ch. 288.Sure it's all poker all the time, but it's a lot of cheap British poker programming. It'll wear thin on you once you start hearing Jesse May and Barney Boatman giggling hysterically in your sleep. One kind of fun thing on there though is "Poker Night Live"They watch online poker on a 5 min delay with an "expert" analyzing the play. One of the experts is Devin Armstrong, who's a very strong player. He's actually a friend of a friend. He's had a bunch of online success and made the final table in the limit event Eric Frolich won in last year's WSOP. And yeah, I'll concede that you can only listen to a british accent for like 8 minutes before you want to kill someone, but I watched the Final Table of the Monte Carlo Millions today with Ferguson and Ivey. They also showed this competition between Jesus and ScottyNguyen. They were tossing cards at an apple on top of a glass from like 15 feet. Scotty barely hit the apple, while Jesus BURIED TWO cards in a row INTO that apple. Sweet stuff. Either way, if there is a channel dedicated to poker in Canada I wonder how tough it would be (and if they would do it at all) to get the Canadian rights to broadcast the WSOP. Could you imagine 24 of LIVE coverage?
MikePatrick 0
It won't happen on CGTV. The rights to WSOP and WPT are very pricy, and CGTV is struggling to afford what programming they have, hence the majority of low quality programming (Have you noticed all the bingo?)As a network just starting up, they won't be able to afford any high end programming for a while. Monte Carlo Millions is about as good as you'll get there for a while.
nell789 0
You'd think they could at least get some older stuff, like WSOP and WPT from 2003 and such.

bdc30 0
You'd think they could at least get some older stuff, like WSOP and WPT from 2003 and such.Problem there being that ESPN owns all the WSOP broadcastsand replays them 900 times a month on their own channels, even in Canada. ESPN Classic always has old WSOP shows, you should check that out, if you get it.
