thechad5 0
Early in a 3 table SNG I raised from MP with A-Q suited and got one caller. The flop was Q-x-Q with two clubs I decided to slow play. I checked on the flop and the turn and he finally bet to which i raised then he re-raised. With A-Q and 2nd in chips in the tourney I pushed him all in. He called with 8-8 and hit on the river.I am not wondering how to play that or even if I played it poorly. I can't remember exact figures but I had good odds and played it pretty flawless. 5% rivers hit I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. However, it got me thinking. I normally slow play when I flop trips unless its a pocket pair that hit in which case I will make a 1/4 to 1/3 pot depending on size bet. In online poker the idea is to trap to get paid, or at least that is my idea. Fortunately in this case I was able to rebound and win the tourney but I was wondering about when to bet on trips and when not to. If I had bet out I could have probably run him off the pot and avoided a bad beat, but I got greedy and wanted his whole stack. So I would like some feedback of when you think its a good idea to bet on trips and when to sucker someone in.
Longshanks 0
first, go to the strategy forums second, slow play a monster on an uncoordianted boardthird, bad beat forum
phlegm 6
I think the correct strategy is to slow play ur trips and then whine about the bad beat when he catches a flush or strate on river
kook04 0
So I would like some feedback of when you think its a good idea to bet on trips and when to sucker someone in.Talking strictly about online here:If I flop anything less than a straight, I'm not slow playing. Bet right into it, the majority of the time you will get action. Overcards don't scare these fools. 3 to a flush doesn't scare these fools. Nothing does.

milestodavid 0
Can someone find a thread JUST LIKE THIS ONE in strat? Please, general is bad enough.
mb5322 0
I stopped slow playing everything, and to slow play this is wrong. Lead out and bet about 3/4 size of the pot. Other than that post in strategy.
lucky_charmz 0
I agree with most of what I've read here. I rarely slow play anything lower than a flush because you almost always get action from the fish that play online and are calling hoping to hit one of their 3 outs.

Is that in the same category as "prolly = probably"....?
phlegm 6
Dang you are right wildcat. How stupid of me to misspell straight. I guess using ur instead of you are is ok by you though. On a related note next time put your question mark outside the quotation.
thechad5 0
I just wanted to say thank you to no one for producing any bit of relative material. Why does everyone who replies on hear sound like my playing is a personal attack? Also, no one slow plays a monster? Never? I find that hard to believe. Oh yeah and to those of you who have a million posts but say absolutely nothing important GET A LIFE!
phlegm 6
Dont understand what realative material u are looking 4. In the situation u described he called all in on turn with 88. If he was willing to do that then he probably woulda done it on flop also' You were destined to get hosed no matter wat.
