Would someone briefly sum up what happened to set Phil Hellmuth off against that guy he lit into and called several names? I don't need a chapter book but I missed that episode and they referred to it several times during the WPT tourney of champs.
Hellmuth raised with AK and the guy made a huge reraise with KJ I believe. Hellmuth called instantly and the guy hit a J. Verbal abuse ensued

This exact scenario happened to me in the Party 200k on Saturday night. Random Bison #423687 (who I have covered by about 2k) with KJ raises, I re-raise with AK from the BB, he jams, I call, he spikes a jack. I proceed to repeatedly type "9 TIME WORLD CHAMPION!!!" into the chat window with hilarious results. A few at the table got it and got a good chuckle. True story.Man, I'm awesome.

I know this old news for US viewers but TSN in Canada has just started showing the main event. Wow how did these people even win an online satelite. Today they showed the episode with Daniel at the feature table. That guy who called DN down to the river with Q10 and got lucky, dam what a shame. Then one guy called Chris Ferguson's all in with K9 against AA, pathetic. The funniest thing was that 91 year old who got a penalty for using the F-bomb, that was classic. I remeber reading DN's blog at the time and thought he was just bitter of having another bad showing but he played brilliantly, made some big laydowns on good reads but just got sucked out on too many times. I would love too give it a shot this year if i couild get 2 weeks off in August but that seems very unlikely. The amazing part is more pros didnt make the FT.
get used to the clown that called ferguson with the K9Joe Stillman continues to make poor plays and act like a jerk for a while longer in the tourneyhes got sweet dental hygeine though, so hes got that going for him, which is nice

"The amazing part is more pros didnt make the FT."With the few stories posted here (i.e. DN & Hellmuth) and even personal experience playing with absolute novices I'm not all that surprised. People who don't understand the game are going to make wacky plays - they're going to stay in with any high card @ a 10 man table, they'll call a big raise with 7-2 offsuit - they'll stay in when the flop a third heart to match the pair in their hands. And more often than not they're going to suck out.I wonder if the top pros get to a point where it's really hard for them to dumb the game down a bit and think way outside the box in terms of possible hands. i.e. They've got A-K and the flop comes 7-2-A - do they give any serious consideration that the donkey across the table has 7-2 off suit in his pocket? It comes around to a mix of "beginner's luck" and "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" - pros will be playing how you're supposed to play, donkey's will just play and you can't play the man if you can't figure out what the hell he's doing.

LOL!!!!!!!!!That should be on a monument in fron of the rio for the next WSOP....I love it when I am playing in a Live MTT...one guy raises, another guy reraises...and you look down to see JJ....you then look at the the re-raiser and you see extreme strength....and fold your JJ with ease....The first guy moves allin....and the re-raiser immediately calls and shows AJ...the first guy shows TT and you feel like an idiot....

if i ever make it on tv in a poker tournament i'm going to be an idiot. purposefully.hopefully it will involve myself cutting my wrists after i take a bad beat with my cards and then proceeding to bleed all over the felt.I think that will make for good tv. surprised no one has done it yet.- Jordansike
