AAsnake88 0
I've experienced this twice in the past week, and I'm looking for the opinions and experience of others to see if I'm correct to be unhappy.I've played two B & M MTT's in the past few days, making the final table at both. Once we reached the FT, the TD came over to the table with a payoff sheet "just in case we wanted to discuss anything".In my past tourney experience at final tables I've never seen this happen. I think that any deals should be initiated by the players only.Is this commonplace? Please let me know what you think. This occurred in both a casino (AC) and a local cardroom (NY). Petoria 0
I think deals should be between the players, and the casino should not encourage them either way.
gaddyjr 0
First of all, it should definitely be up to the players...but, it is up to the casino (TD) to let the players know that it is an option. Therefore, TD did nothing wrong.

AAsnake88 0
If it is acceptable for the TD to this then so be it.I think what got me more annoyed was that every time another player was knocked out it was "discussion time" again and I was told that I was greedy every time I refused. I've read about that here before so we don't need to go there. Thanks for your input.

mr_english 0
Most of the games I play we usually end up agreeing to chop in one more spot, but all they get is the buyin back.I did play in a freeroll a while back where pressure was on to chop once we got down to about 10, there thought on it was its still $50 for a freeroll.I had a guy sitting on my right who would not agree to anything, which saved me from being the bad guy. Worked out well as I went on to win.
blakheart 3
I think it is fine for the tournament director to get involved, most tournaments I have played involve a discussion about a deal anyway. He might as well initiate the talk since he is going to manage it. Someone mentioned cutting in one more spot, that is the most common deal I see at the final table. I don't really mind telling everyone no if that is what I feel, poker isn't a popularity contest anyway.
kennyg1966 0
the tournament director most likely likes getting deals on the final table...gets the tournament over and gets the cash games going adgain.Sounds like good business!
sniper 0
I don't have a problem with a TD throwing that option out on the table.A lot of players who have never been to a final table aren't even aware of deals or chops, and they think you are trying to screw them out of money. The TD probably just wanted to finish up the tourney quicker and get the hell home. AgentKdoubleO 0
TD and dealers are told by management to encourage dealmaking at the final table b/c tournaments take up alot of the casinos time. Management really does not care b/c rake/time in a cash game usually equals the tournament fee in the end, however managemnt encourages the deal for the benefit of the dealers and TD b/c they work on tips only and they have to split all the tips equally that they get from the tournament which is usually crap.ie. 90 players = 12 dealers, 1 per table 3 break dealers (1share each) 1 TD(2 shares) 100 + 20, 1800 to the house, 9000 to the prize pool avg tip = 10% = 900 -- 900/14 = $64 per dealer avg tournament time 5hrs so their makin $13 per hour which is total crap compared to makin $40 per hour at the cash gameshow do i know this u ask? i happen to be a dealer at a club and dread dealing tournaments and always encourage chops at the final table
