DB10-2 0
last night in a low stakes NL cash game i watched aces cracked by J3 and kings by j9 after huge preflop raises. i played for almost two hours, hardly picked up any hands, and left exactly even. very bad players at this table, though. is this common? Vatche 0
its very common...any casino in los angeles...not just at the bike.
GoCryWolfe 0
I fail to see how this is a debacle...
solo319 0
Actually this seems to be a common theme around here in kansas city......especially in the tournaments. A guy moves in preflop and the BB will call and say "i call im on a draw" then proceed to to flip over J3 or Q2 sooooted.

But I am curious. What do "you" consider to be "huge preflop raises". Yes it is common. Just curious.

pckt10s 0
Yeah, that's gotta be that $40 dollar buy-in. Just another nite at the bike. What were the raises and position?Oh yeah, if you didn't know..... the bike is rigged.
gaddyjr 0
Believe it or not, AA and KK have lost before in the history of poker. For some reason, people at the poker table decide to GAMBLE with inferior hands, and sometimes get lucky. Go figure.
pokerplayer24 0
any nl game live below 2/5 nl is full of complete donks. That includes the 1/2 40 tables, 1/2 100 and 1/2 200 tables. The 2/5 nl tables with buy ins ranging from 200-500 are generally weak but not quite as awful as the 1/2 nl blinds games. You will almost never have to deal with good competition playing a live nl cash game until you're either playing a game with no max buy in or one with blinds over 5/
ahalvara 0
its very common...any casino in los angeles...not just at the bike.I have to agree with this statement as I play at Hawaiian Gardens, the Bike, and commerce.....on the flip side of the coin...if people play like then that's their deal. It's their money and they can play how they feel, if they win that time, surely they are to lose in the long run. I don't think in low limits anyone can filter that type of play out. But I am curious. What do "you" consider to be "huge preflop raises". Yes it is common. Just curious.this was the $100NL table. by way of example, this is roughly how the two saltiest hands i saw went down: early position would raise to $10-$16 preflop with hands like A9o, then a guy with J3 would (to me, inexplicably) call, then someone in late position with KK or AA would come over the top for all of their chips. then there would either be 3-way action to the flop and in at least one case all the way to the river. both of the hands i saw had KK and AA go down to hands like J3 and J9. i know that a 5x-8x raise in low limit NL games isn't uncommon, but it should tell J3 that he's beaten and he should bail. then to call a reraise all in with those hands...? youch.(note: for all of you who have been so kind as to point out that KK and AA do not win every hand, don't bother wasting your time with a needless 19-year old sounding snide post. i get it. i was not marveling at how often i saw big hands lose nor necessarily at the loose calls i saw--i was asking if this is common since most cash games i'd played in have been online and have contained vastly better players, even at these and even lower/micro limits where i started. the only other live NL cash game i'd played in to that point, at ocean's 11 in oceanside, also contained vastly better players.)
