i'm broke again

Recommended Posts

2500bb is obviously overdoing it a bit but 300bb is not sufficient preparation I think.
ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!?!You need at LEAST 485,321bb to have any sense of security at all. You, my friend, have far too much gambool in you.

I've been a long time looker at this forum but this is my first time posting. Take it easy on me guys!  What I want to say is that the 300bb bankroll theory is complete crap if you play nlhe online. Especially considering the way most people multi-table these days. I play full time  at 1/2 nl level usually playing two short handed games at once and I would usually run a $5k bankroll. Which is 2500bb I guess. I feel it gives me a sense of security when going through a bad rush and helps me avoid titlting. What does everyonelse think their bankroll should be in terms of the bb for nlhe online. 2500bb is obviously overdoing it a bit but 300bb is not sufficient preparation I think.
300xBB is for LIMIT Holdem not NLNL it is recommended to have at a min of 25 full buy-ins to w/e level you are playing. So at 1/2 with a max buy-in of 200. Take 200 x 25 = 5KSo 2500bb isn't overdoing it if you play NL

Nice honest post... Playing when you are tired after a long day is definitely not the best time to play, but it seems to be your only option. During your break from the game do some reading on it so that you won't be totally cut off from poker. And bankroll management is one of the toughest things to control, believe me I know. Cool off for a while and you'll be winning again in no time, just don't play tired!
ive made final tables half asleep

Ive been there many times i think i was getting very close to falling apart again until i won a MT tourney on stars a couple days ago. For some reason this has made me play better. Im trying very hard not to be a donkey. I have made some calls lately that i have been very impressed with and been sucked out on a lot lately. Stupid variance. Regardless i know if i keep doing what im doing ill do well. So i guess the solution to all your problems is to take down a Multi table tourament. Good luck!

I completely agree on the bankroll management, but I have no idea HOW to do it. I turned $50 into $1000 on FCP, cashed out $300 and proceeded to blow the rest on $20 re-buy tourneys and 3/6 limit and I didn't even notice until I was down to under $200, which I then lost out of more stupidity. I mean, that's just stupid play. So, what am I doing about it? I'm sticking to $5 tourneys, $5 SnG's and playing very low NL ring games. That's the discipline I'm instilling in myself.- Stay within your true limits, dollar-wise and ability-wise;- Don't throw money around out of frustration- Refer to the first two items repeatedly.Regards,

Seem to be a couple of posts like this today, so:You always hear from the pros 'Every good poker player goes broke, no matter how good you get at the game and how much you win, everyone goes broke.' Awesome - Looks like I'll be one heck of a poker player someday!!! :club:
