Today, as some of you know, I played in Commerce's CA state championship 330 buy in event. I was cruising for the most part when I totally scrweed up my last hand.I'll post a more in depth blog, but long story short:I have a comfortable stack of 24k, 80 players left, blinds at 400/800/100. I'm in lp with J8 suited of diamonds. I feel pretty good about my hand, thinking if I raise, I can take down the blinds and antes. I have a tight image and most people will fold to me. I raise to 2000 (first mistake)Button,(big stack) calls on the button, he's the big stack like I said, so I put him on some sort of Ace, A10, Aj, something like that. BB calls as well, so I'm happy because I feel likethey're drawing against one another. Flop is 87x with two spades. Just the flop I was looking for. BB checks, I immediately push all in to pick up the pot, I figure I'm ahead right now, I out flopped everyone, so I want to take it down. Button AGONIZES and almost doesn't call. But in the end, he calls and shows me pocket queens, no help for me on the turn and river and I'm out.I'm so upset at how I played that hand, I want to just go back in time and slap myself. I had NO business mixing it up with the big stack, I had NO business pushing on a flop that has all sorts of tempting draws out there for people. In general, I feel like a real idiot. I've cashed in all the ones i've played so far, and the play is very straightforward, which is a switch when you're used to the $5 donkfest sit n gos, but I'm adjusting. Now how about 15 total 180 man $4.40 on Pstars? That means you play 15 no more no less and all 4.40 180 mans on stars. I think 18 cash so we could do points for each place. 1rst-182nd-173rd-164rth-155th-146th-137th-128th-119th-1010th-911th-812th-713th-614th-515th-416th-317th-218th-1Of course we could adjust the # of tournaments but I think this would be the easiest and most telling of who does the best. You definitely should be rewarded more for the higher you finish. Also, I think we can go by the honor system unless someone is against it in which case we'll have to find someone to hold the money.
