shinychicken 0
Maybe he meant to call you a donkey...
Cadam11 0
Yeah that is what I thought but I said I know what a donkey is and then he said you must not play a lot of poker if you dont know what a monkey is.
Simpleton 0
He had a right to call you a donkey the way you played that!
LongLiveYorke 38
Sounds like he:1. tried to say donkey and was embarressed and just went with it2. misheard donkey as monkey and was convinced that monkey was the correct term3. was trying to come up with a new way to describe bad players ("stop trying to make fetch happen")

poguemahone68 0
Monkies get a download patch with their poker software that has an allin button with a picture of a banana on it.Micky Dolenz was a Monkee
Simpleton 0
Well I guess you didn't play that bad if you wanted the pot right there and not allow him to give you more money. His AQ or what ever would have payed you off.
digitalmonkey 929
A monkey is another term for genius. Clearly he meant to say donkey.

suicideking 0
He said he had AK. Odds were heavily against that. You played it terribly. Unless you wanted it right there. Don't check that flop in low levels either, because when the J turns, and he has broadway because he donked in with Q 10, you will realize why you played that hand wrong. Abbaddabba 0
I played that bad? Explain to me how.The fact that you did it makes you a donkey. The fact that you can't see why you're a donkey makes you a monkey.See the difference?
Cadam11 0
First off if I would have raised that flop he could have easliy reraised me in that position if he really had AK. Then I would have had make sure my two pair was actually good or not. I check the flop hoping he would be, which he did. So if I raise him to 9 or what I did by going all in makes no difference. IF he had strong enough hand to call a reraise of 9 he would call the all in.

Akka 0
value betting is overrated. just push and you will be fine.
Akka 0
Way to overbet the pot by $30 and put yourself in a situation where you're either winning not much with a big hand or you're losing everything, since you're only gonna get called by a hand that beats you. This is bull. Perhaps in like 200 NL or maybe even 100 NL this might be true. In 25 NL people are so retarded that they call here with any ace any twopair and perhaps middlepair but the key is to not check the flop. just bet out and they will think "he cant have a good hand since if he had he would have checked". Never ever check raise just freaking mega bet!

But I still put him on a decent hand that he would call all in on. But he folded.
Abbaddabba 0
Yes, you will get callers for the all in on the turn occasionally. But not as often (or for as much, on average) as if you play the hand competently.See: betting the flop.
