From this week on I'm going to start a new and improved internet pokerlife. Most of my 4 years playing poker I've been a live player and breaking about even at 5/10 and 10/20 limit holdem and Omaha, witch is fine because I'm a pure recreational player. But I have never really tried internetpoker.A year ago I finally tried playing internetpoker and I went on the worst downstring that has ever hit me. 800 on PP, 600 on PS and 1500 on Pacific. And all this playing low to mid limits. There were a few factors why I played so bad:-internet poker becomes boring after a few hours-I've got to many things to do when I'm home-The casinochips in your hand don't have much value when your playing, but a mouseclick is even worseMy dad is an avid Omaha- and Studplayer and could'nt believe how bad I was playing. He went through my hand histories and almost smacked my head because of some of the bad plays I made. The thing is, those bad plays all happend at the end of a few hour session..no exeptions. So with this knowledge I'm going to start over again.-First I bought some books. SS 1&2 and HoH1&2 that I'm going to read and reread.-I bought pokertracker to see where my flaws really lay-I'm going to learn multitabling so that I don't get bored anymore-There will be no more playing untill the middle of the night so I can donk of my profit-And last but not least I'm going bonus-whoring. Get a few thousand hands on 20 something sites, just to clear the bonus and get a feel for witch site suits me most.Hope this will work because otherwise it's no online poker for me anymore.Hope someone can relate to this story, mabey it will, cause I don't believe everyone on this site is making money like some do.What are the things you know you have to adjust in your game but are to lazy to do somthing about it? Just think about that for a moment.CheersJan

I dont see how multitabling is going to help you. You say that there are too many distractions at home so I assume this means you're not taking the time to examine all the actions at your table. By multitabling, you're going to have a hard time following all the actions, labelling players, and getting reads.I like your new approach to the game, but I think you need to start out making yourself focus on one table. Think about every action. When you're not in a hand, try to figure out what others in the hand are holding. Also, I'd reccommend Poker Ace Hud as an overlay working together with Poker Tracker. Especially if multitabling when you decide to do it, it'll help to figure out your opponents.

For what it is worth, I would give a little more thought to the times you play... Midnight in Europe is when a lot of the truly juicy cash games break out... I dont know why... I guess the average American has more disposable income that the average european.

I disagree with this, i think i play better poker when im multi tabling. If im only playing one table i get bored out of my mind and ill either start donking it up and play everything or ill start doing something else on my computer which completly takes my focus off poker. When i multi table i pick up premium hands much more often so im less inclined to play shit or spend time on other things. Lets be honest sitting there staring at a computer waiting to pick up a hand can be pretty damn boring.

Yeah, I hear you. I multitable myself. But if you have a problem winning I think sitting back and studying the game can be beneficial.

Thanks for the replies.Whitespade: Yeah I forgot to mention I'll be trying to play in a quiet place, with some music in the background. I think multi-tabling will work for me. The same at work, the more pressure the more focusBrownbeard: ''Without exeption, witch downstring is the casionchip falling for internetpoker?
