JackTheCat 0
This is an email I got after pacific poker decided to take away my bonus points conversion of 100 points equals a dollar.I am outraged at this arbitrary action they have taken on me personally, and not just them getting rid of a promotion. please let everyone know how unfair this action is and that it could happen to anyone playing at pacific poker who happens to win.Dear JackCatI am Shelley H from the Operations Department at Cassava Enterprises(Gibraltar) Ltd. I am writing in response to your e-mail.I can understand that you will be disappointed with our decision to revoke the privileges concerning your bonus points. Please understand that this decision has been made by our Managers, and is a business decision that will not be rescinded. The amounts involved do pale in comparison to the amount that you have profited from our site. For everyten dollars that you wager, you receive one bonus point. One hundred bonus points can be converted back to one dollar. Therefore one point equates to one cent. For every dollar that you wager on our tables, a tenth of one cent of this dollar could be converted to real money. We offer this bonus conversion facility as a helper for our less successful players. It is a psychological safety net, whereby if they lose a dollar they are not losing everything, and can convert these points back to bankroll funds. However it is not the case that you need this extra incentive to continue with our site, and so we have decided to remove this privilege from your account. In addition, I am afraid that we are not able to consider converting your Bonus Points now that the deadline has passed. We do acknowledge that you are a very active member on our site and hopethat you can choose to remain so under these new conditions. Please notethat as we consider the matter closed further correspondence regarding this issue will not be entered into."as you can see, not only did they stop my bonus but they took at least 90 dollars I had earned by giving me a week to convert the points, and since I was on vactaion I got screwed again. Also for them to say that I have profited off of their site is pretty laughable as I am taking other players money not theirs and they are taking large rakes and also getting interest off the money I keep in my account there., their rationale is unbelievable, and I will be looking elswhere for my fishies. Thanks for letting me vent on this forumJackTheCat"It's all good, except at pacific poker"

bdc30 0
Yep. Heard it before from others as well. How a site feels it can take a virtual dump on it's players is beyone me. I hope you cashed out and don't play there anymore, but it seems like that's what they want you to do.
JackTheCat 0
yeah and to top it off, when I got back to the hotel where I left my truck while on vacation, it had been stolen, and I'm not making this up..JackTheCat "It's all good, except at pacific, and except that my truck was stolen...." wilheldp 0
Be sure to let them know that you will no longer be playing at their site. It won't change their decision, and it probably won't break their heart, but maybe it will cause their "Managers" to take a closer look at "business decision"s before getting rid of a huge rake generator in order to save tenths of pennies on the dollar. If they recognize you as a high volume player, they are giving up thousands of dollars in rake in order to screw you out of $90 in incentives. Sounds like a pretty stupid "business decision" to me. I hope you cashed out and don't play there anymore, but it seems like that's what they want you to do.Yes I took my money out and this is the reply that I sent them...do you really think that it is I who have profited from you?give your head a shake, look at the amount of rake you take from me and every other player. It may be a long time if ever that I play on your site, due to your arrogance at penalizing people who know how to play poker.I may have considered staying if you would have at least given me what I had earned in bonus points to the point of your decsion, however your ridiculous arbitrary actions make it hard for me to continue with this site. Do you know how much interest you make off of my money sitting in your site? or how much more you make by delaying my cashouts? You have made a very BAD business decision and word of mouth is powerful, believe me I will be talking to my poker playing friends, poker forums and other poker websites letting people know how you treat your loyal, winning customers. mrdannyg 274
i have seen pretty much the exact correspondance between a player and Pacific at least half a dozen times.they simply steal from you.normally, i don't give any value to "this site is rigged" or more complicated versions of that. but many good players complain of "bad luck" after making consistent withdrawals from Pacific, and this makes those rumours slightly plausible. if a site is willing to steal from you, they're willing to make an unfair game.having said all that, i'm still considering joining up now that we can get 28% rakeback. with those players, seems too fishy not to play
Vman96 0
having said all that, i'm still considering joining up now that we can get 28% rakeback. with those players, seems too fishy not to play28% rakeback? Do I need to make a new account? heheAnd them taking bonus points away is bull. It's only roughly equivalent to 2% rakeback anyway. At the highest limit tables now, (where I am assuming this guy is playing) the max rake is $5!!! I have earned less than $40 in bonus there though. Still have $9 in there. And he is right on the interest that they are probably earning off our money. The only lure is the players are so horrible.
Golden 2
It's rigged.(It had to be said)
JoeWalsh 0
Yep. Heard it before from others as well. How a site feels it can take a virtual dump on it's players is beyone me. I hope you cashed out and don't play there anymore, but it seems like that's what they want you to do.Thats the thing, they know players wont give up the easy money there for the sake of a few free bucks.I used to play on Pacific, they did this to me but then one day I just lost my nerve playing above my means (successfully) against people who called anyting down. I left after I realised the players had negatively affected me.If you are seriously winning there, keep at it man, screw free 10 bux, you dont need it.

theredpill99 0
That's a disturbing letter. I stopped playing there a few months ago when I felt like I was getting screwed over on cards. I haven't been back.
Konidias 0
I have roughly $60 in bonus point money. I guess I better take it before I can't.edit: and it's true about the terrible beats after cashouts... I've talked to dozens of people who have said the same thing, and I've personally experienced it nearly every time I cashed anything out there. I'm not saying it's rigged, and I don't even know how they'd rig it, but it seems like you go on a losing streak that pretty much equals your cashout, so that you'd have to reverse your cashout. Not that I ever reverse them... I usually just don't play as frequently when I'm in the process of cashing otu.

tryptout 0
that sucks. it's just shady. i was actually thinking about starting rakeback there next month.definitely gives me second thoughts and i'll need to look a little more closely.

My big dilema is that i play 3-6 and i'm making nearly two big bets per hour there which is making me a nice tidy sum. I love the fish but I was so pissed at what they did.My buddy told me they try to get rid of the good players to leave the fish happy raising each other, so I don't know maybe I should stay there and give up the stupid bonus cash because I make more on the players.incidently what is this rakeback stuff and how do I get it?JackTheCat
tufat23 0
wow i dont play there, but maybe i should if this is what they do to sharks. Leaves just fish and meCan't believe they did take the bonus money away, and whilst i don't believe 'online poker is rigged' i try to reduce the chance of it by only playing the biggest sites. This bonus withdrawal thing doesn't convince me pacific is rigged, but would put it to the top of my list of 'possible' rigged sites. No one saying the cashout thing is just variance?
