Jargonator 0
Just heard 'Empty Walls' Serj Tankian's first single from his debut album, it sounds damn good, gonna be a must for any hardcore SOAD fan. The video is awesome for it too.
Dirtydutch 8
Anyone listen to Atmosphere? I only heard of them the other day when someone gave me Lucy Ford. Wow. I don't usually connect emotionally with a hip-hop album, but after this I can almost see why some kids like EMO so much. I hate to make this comparison because "EMO hip-hop" isn't going to draw any of you in, but there's something so sad and sarcastic and depressed about the whole thing.I also can't name too many hip-hop records that work so well as an album. I'm really in love with this record.

mk 11
i can understand what you mean and you know a lot more about music than me. if i was looking for structure, i would hate animal collective. if i was looking for well-thought out, tight melodies and what not, i would not like animal collective. also, i know a lot of people who pretend to like animal collective because they have become pitchfork darlings of late.this being said, before i ever knew about pitchfork, or musical structure or anything like that, i liked animal collective. why? because its really ****ing fun to listen to, for me at least. whimsy is the word you used, and thats exactly what i like about it. its playful, doesnt take itself too seriously like a lot of indie, and i feel like they enjoy playing just as much as i enjoy listening.another band that comes to mind is the unicorns. same sorta deal.p.s. wang. winters love is one of my favorite songs ever.right on. i do like the fact that their music is sort of goofy, and don't get me wrong; it isn't structure i'm looking for. i listen to a lot of stuff that's really, really out and minimal, like people who record their cat sleeping and manipulate it lol. and most of my favorite bands of all time are the bands whose music exists on the fringes of pop music (which animal collective's certainly does)...again I just think their stuff is too cluttered to be memorable.side note: i want to open a record store in chicago and name it championship vinyl and hire all the regular posters in this thread to sit around and talk about music all day. The new Radiohead. I think I'm just going to buy a whole pound of weed. A whole pound. I'm going to lock myself in my room, fire up my record player -- I do have one, by the way -- and listen to the new Radiohead on vinyl for 2 weeks straight. I don't even really like smoking.Wang

Shimmering Wang 1
I haven't taken out HTTT of my cars cd player since about 6:30 Friday morning. still not tired of it.If anybody wants me to, I've been giving thought to putting together a few Radiohead B-sides compilations in anticipation of R-Day (Rainbow Day or Radiohead Day: Oct. 10, 2007). I might just burn like 20 copies and mail them out to my friends. They'll surely include older versions of songs that are going to be on the new album, like Nude and Reckoner, and Up On the Ladder and Last Flowers. I've made a few compilations before, but I've never put together the perfect one. It's incredibly difficult, considering the sheer volume of material.Like most of the rest of you are likely doing, I'll probably be listening to a lot of Radiohead over the next Week+. I wanted to jam the new Sunset Rubdown CD, but I haven't been able to find time yet. My iPod seems to be stuck on The Bends right now. Wang

lvpro 0
While discussing Radiohead b-sides... what's everybody's favorite? If we count contributions to soundtracks/compilations, I have to go with Talk Show Host. They performed it when I saw them back in 03, and it was spectacular.
