Hans, boubie, I'm your white knight

holy shit, I can't stop listening to Run The Jewels 2

Bob Dylan.

No, like, in your iTunes folder? in a your My Music folder? it a program file? What's the address? If they're not some place stupid, there's probably little or no risk of spreading the virus.

My Music folder
Maybe look for strange files, but I've never heard of a My-document backup spreading a virus. The only way I'd be worried is if it were someplace weird in program files. You could also scan that folder specifically for viruses (I assume you have some kind of program) -- but also remember, the worst thing that can happen is after a day or so you realize that you have to do it again, and since you won't've had long to accumulate flies or anything, it'll be no major deal. And I've never heard of that, anyway. Just a thought.

so ive been a busdriver fan for a while but i just got roadkillovercoat and it is awesome. dream catchers mitt is a better song than most singers can come up with, its so beautiful in a weird busdriver way. the troglodyte wins and mr mistake are also highlights for me.

For me, Casting Agents and Cowgirls is one of the best songs of the year. I've worn the grooves off that track, and I'm not the kind of guy who normally repeats tracks.

with an assist from Dutch, I'm listening to Kool Keith/Dr. Octogon.. .God damn, I love this album.. I lost it, and had to re aquire it online... man I love this.
It's a classic. I'd like to thank Wang for assisting me, last year, in even recommending it.I'm listening to Stillmatic. I love a lot of gangsta' rap and poverty-based hip-hop, but Nas is the only person who makes me wish I were from a horrible housing project, just so I could be as cool and smart as him.

Stankonia. God, I love the 'Kast. How does the indie crowd feel about Outkast?
as good or better than ever. andre is still lyrically top 5 in my book and their sound still sounds fresh, from southernplayalistic, atliens, stankonia, hell even a couple songs off idlewild are good.most influential rap group of the past 15 years. yea i said it.

Hmmmm. I don't know... more influential than Wu-Tang? Wu-Tang is everywhere. I do love OutKast though.-----------I've listened to Graduation a couple of times now, and I just don't know how much I like it. There are some really good tracks ("Champion," the singles, and some others), but there are some really, really bad songs, including the song with Mos Def called "Drunk and Hot Girls" which is among the worst hip-hop songs I've heard recently. On a sidenote, I'm completely obsessed with Jamie T right now. Panic Prevention is such a great album. I'm sad that I wasn't in to him a month earlier, I could have seen him here. Also really enjoying Emerald City by John Vanderslice lately.

Outkast I think is the best rap group ever. They have constantly reinvented and changed their sound on nearly every album and manage to keep relevant through all of it. A lot of artist that do that fall off horribly. Wu-Tang is good at what they do, but they are so big and diverse that in a way the weaker members count against them.I agree on Graduation, a few really good tracks surrounded by a lot of trash. Pretty much a letdown from his previous efforts.

As much as I love OutKast, I can't agree that they're the best ever. Run DMC beats them. The Beasties were probably more influential, though I'm more of an OutKast fan than a Beasties fan. Boogie Down Productions. Eric B & Rakim, if you count them as a group, and I'm not sure if I do, since it was just one MC and one DJ. I think The Roots are better, while not as popular or commercially successful. And as mentioned before, I'd give the nod to Wu-Tang, personally. Obviously, this is all pretty subjective, and there's clearly no right or wrong answer.

I can see arguments for Run DMC being the pioneers they were, but they never really reinvented their own music the way OuKast does which is why I'd give them the nod over Run-DMC. The Beasties... meh, I just never saw what was so big about them. As much hip-hop as I listened to growing up the Beasties just never really got me into what they were doing and I thought a lot of what they did musically was to make up for lyrical skill. Eric B and Rakim I wouldn't count because they really don't have as much material out as the others and the DJ/Rapper combo like you said seems a little weak for a "group" though everyone over the last 20 years has bitten some part of Rakim's style. The Roots are good, I just don't like them nearly as much as OutKast though I give them credit for being a very creative group. Outkast is one of the very few groups/artist I would by a CD from off name recognition alone having hot heard anything on it.I never thought about what my top ten hip hop groups would be before now, now I want to go through my cd collection when I move this weekend and figure it out. Who would be on yours?

My personal top 10 would look something like:1. Run DMC2. Jurassic 53. Wu-Tang Clan4. Black Star5. The Roots6. OutKast7. Boogie Down Productions8. Dilated Peoples9. A Tribe Called Quest10. The PharcydeThat's just off the top of my head, so I could be forgetting someone. Honorable mentions go to 1 DJ/1 MC teams like Madvillain, Dangerdoom, Eric B & Rakim, and Reflection Eternal

Has anyone else revisited Hell Hath No Fury since last winter? I just pull it back out, and it's even better than I recalled. Sick, sick album.
Yeah, I listen to it all the time. It's been in constant rotation since my brother emailed me, called me, and IMed me about 30 times the day after he first heard it because he was so impressed.

I've always loved them, but I liked them waaaaay before I had anything resembling a semi-refined taste in music. I think Outkast is kinda like Tom Petty: Everybody likes them, no matter what. Even cynical bastards like Outkast. On a separate note, I'm listening to the new Animal Collective for the first time. I hope it's good. The lead track, "Peacebone," is typically strange.Wang

Such a sweet album. What else have I been listening to?Still a whole lot of Caribou. Wish I'd discovered him earlier.I really like the Justice album that came out earlier this year. I decided I simply don't like M.I.A. all that much. I put on "Twin Cinema" by the New Pornographers for the first time in a while the other day. Still very awesome. For some reason I've had a real Wolf Parade urge the last few weeks.Probably other stuff I'm forgetting.Wang
