Shimmering Wang 1
Why was this thread moved? Hey, whoever moved it, this is like a general OT STANDARD. I mean, none of us are ever going to wander into another section often enough to make this thread half as worthwhile. So just move it back? Please? I like this thread, I use it a lot, and I don't think I'm alone.I would appreciate, whichever mod is running this ship. Thanks,Wang

Jadaki 1
Wang's is one of mine as well, but here's a top ten'er, I think:I like both of those, however my favorite Doom track is Benzi Box.Jump 'em in like jump rope, double dutchThen turn on the mic with a thumb stroke, subtle touchCuddle clutch, is this thing on?Like the fling with Mrs. King Kong, this spring gone?Sing a song of slaphappy crappinessHe came to blow like it was strapped to his nappy chestSurely I jest, the best on a wireless micNot an eye test, yet I di-gressBut why stress? Try and remember whenMaybe bit the tender skin-ned babysitter GwendolynThe type to hit and run and go tell a friendWord to El Muerto cucaracha exoskeletonHe know, flow like interstellar windTow a rap djinn by his toe into hell again{*ahem*} One two, check me tooLoose wreck see through your gooseneck EQ

Loismustdie 0
I saw Poison with Ratt last night. Poison was entertaining as usual but Ratt sucked. When did Stephen Pearcy get aids? Also, it was LOUD... because I was front row, bitches!!! I made eye contact with CC Deville, pointed at him and screamed" I ****ing love you!!" and he stopped playing, stood at attention and saluted me. I promptly came in my jeans. I also was one of the lucky few to catch a used Warren De Martini guitar pick. Oh, and I bleached my hair and used flourescent green hair gel as an ode to Poison. All in all, the gayest night imaginable minus that whole dirty cocksucking business but still a great time. Next concert... Pat Benatar. That's right, don't sound to jealous. lvpro 0
Liberation?I never heard it, but I remember reading good reviews of it.I'm getting a copy of Ear Drum now.Yep, Liberation.BTW, I realized after I sent it that I sent you a bad version of the new Pharoahe Monch. I can fix that if you want the real version.Speaking of hip hop, I just finished listening to Roadkillovercoat by Busdriver, now I'm on to Bayani by Blue Scholars. This afternoon will almost certainly include a listen to Andorra by Caribou and possibly Can't Go Back by Papercuts.

What's it called?Granted you can't trust my judgement because there aren't reviews I can use to validate my opinion with yet, but Ear Drum is probably my favorite hip-hop album of the year, unles I'm forgetting something big. BigDMcGee 3,354
After reading Mercury's Devo thread ( that dismissively labels them a novelty group), I've gone on You Tube and am going through a bunch of Devo songs, which are great... I'm listening to a hilarious cover of "Head like a hole"

What's it called?Granted you can't trust my judgement because there aren't reviews I can use to validate my opinion with yet, but Ear Drum is probably my favorite hip-hop album of the year, unles I'm forgetting something big.As mentioned above, it's called Liberation. As far as hip-hop albums this year go, my favorites in no particular order (Haven't heard Ear Drum yet, but Kweli is my 4th favorite MC of all-time, so I am looking forward to hearing it):Double Up - R. Kelly (no, i'm not kidding. R. Kelly is secretly a genius and makes people think he's retarded. This album is genius in the way it pokes fun at "that fake thug, r & b, rap scenario" as Dead Prez put it, but in such a subtle way that a lot of people miss it. Either that, or he has officially gone fucking crazy, and decided that it would be a good idea to write a song that consists of his half of phone call in which he breaks up with his girlfriend, and says things like, "Bitch I wish you wouuuuuuuld burn my motherfuckin' clooooohohooothes. With your triflin' ass." One way or another, this album is absolutely fascinating to me.Bayani - Blue Scholars (i'm not sure how well these guys are known outside of the pacific northwest, but I really dig their stuff.)Roadkillovercoat - Busdriver (****ing weird and awesome. Totally unconventional hip hop sound)Desire - Pharoahe MonchI'm sure Ear Drum will be good, though.

Doom is top 10, but not top 5. Top 5:1. Biggie2. Jay-Z3. Mos Def4. Kweli5. NasThat Busdriver album is unreal. Is his other stuff worth checking out?I'm honestly not sure. The only other album of his I've heard was a collaboration with someone else (maybe Daedelus, I'm not sure because it was in a friend's car), and it was even weirder. I'm planning on checking out his other stuff eventually, though.
