Tell her that you will not play while drunk, high, while in intimate moments with her, etc...Also, it could be that she doesn't like you playing poker because she is Asian.If this is your "job", you might be in trouble no matter what. Easy: you love the person you are when she is in your life. Explain to her what it is that you do (your passion i am assuming). If she doesn't give in just ask yourself if life would be happy if poker was not a part of it.ps. i really hope that this thread goes douche-free. and let us know how it goes. Explain that you will not use any other funds but your bankroll to play poker. Promise her that if you bankroll ever vanishes, you will quit poker for life. I think that is an appropriate compromise for a couple who are committed to each other, but Hanguk sounds like he is in the beginning stages of a relationship.....it was less than 2 months ago when he and his last girlfriend broke up (over this same issue)Well, good luck Hanguk. Remember poker has negative connotations for some people.....risky, gambling, illegal, etc. Try and convince her you could be spending time drinking beer and playing softball with your buddies; that would cost you money and with poker you can make a few bucks ! It automatically comes with the territory.But, I guess there's also a fine line that you could possibly cross over into overdoing it, especially in these circumstances, because I think I said it before, but then it starts to look like you're just bribing them into thinking that, ""Poker is ok because he wins and then he buys me stuff. What I would do is put all my spreadsheets from the last year or so in a binder so she can see how serious I take the game and how much profit I am actually taking in. Some shit you like, some you don't. If you're in a relationship, you'll learn very quickly about the word "compromise".That said, be honest about your poker habits. If you play 10hrs a day, she'll likely ask, no, tell you it's not acceptable. Thus you can "compromise" and negotiate an acceptable timeframe to play.I imagine poker's a hobby for you like it is for most of us. I think, given time, she'll consider herself happy that you're hobby doesn't see you and your buddies at Hooters 10hrs a day donking off $100...
