full tilt 16k last night, my bustout hand

Recommended Posts

To any whom are interested...Played a few tourneys (I'm a cash game player) in the last few days, gearing up for the Full Tilt 200K on Sunday. Yesterday I had some decent success placing 4th in a 6000 gaurantee (183 entered) and then 21st in the 16K (750ish ppl). I'd like to hear how donkish you all think this play is, but first, a little background to the table.I was 3rd in chips with 58K, first at 90K and second at 64K. Despite losing a three way all in preflop with AA vs KJ and KQ (KJ made a straight flush) and punching me down to 30K I had built back up using position steals and C-bets. Hadn't seen much of a hand until this one.Blinds at 1000-2000 and antes at 225 I think. I find 66 on the button. C/O makes it 7200 to go with what appears to be a steal, but he has 51K in chips and I don't want to play for all my chips with 66 when I've been dominating the table for 4-5 orbits. I flat call, I am the only caller.Flop comes A :D 4 :D A :) he checks and I check behind, 19K in the potturn is 8 :club: Again he checks, but I figure if he has me, he will call a small bet (10K), and even if he doesn't he may push, as he's shown he is capable of this.River is 3 :D completing the flush.he bets 9600, I hesitate and push all in for my 58K. He calls and shows A4 for a flopped FH. Now obviously he doesn't have to think about this one, but how bad was my push? If he has an AK-AJ, is a call in his spot good after checking all streets? If he has a flush, can he feel safe calling off even if he has KQh?I tried to think what I would do in his spot, and I think I could only call with a full house, and maybe ONLY 88 or Aces over. As it were, he sucked me right in, and I couldn't have played it worse. I should have half potted the flop and shut down when called or raised, leaving me with 50K in chips and still one of the favorites.I'd like to hear comments, thanks,RERAISE5823-Arkanoid

Personally... I'm betting the flop and shutting down if he calls you. Obviously he would.. then probably check to you again on the turn... I'd check there, and then he'll make a value bet on the river, and i'm folding.

Your river jam was terrible. What hands will he call you with that you have beat? Hmm....exactly 0...not a good play sir. As a rule of thumb, be very wary of preflop raisers who check the flop when it is heads up.

That's exactly right Hoosier. I was banking, incorrectly, that he could not call due to the board. Thanks for your imput though, appreciated.

horrid river push...if you think you're good, call, but you're not bluffing him off the pot there.
I agree with what everyone said here... and not to hijack the thread or anything, but how is vegas treating ya Pupsta?
