I immediately thought, "this kid need somes flippin' Polyphonic Spree up in his piece," but the always stellar mbreon beat me to the punch. I still think "It's the Sun" would be a good opener.Others (all snobbery aside):1.) Rod Stewart - "Maggie May", that song always puts me in a good mood no matter how crappy life can be at times.2.) The Mamas and the Papas - "Go Where You Wanna Go", again, impossible to be in a bad mood after hearing this song.3.) Sly & the Family Stone - "Thank You (Falettin Me Be Myself Again)"4.) Jim O'Rourke - "Therefore, I Am"5.) My Bloody Valentine - "Blown a Wish"6.) Supergrass - "Seen the Light"7.) Primal Scream - "Kill All Hippies", hopefully his ex is a hippie.8.) Fiona Apple - "Window" or "Not About Love" or "Extraordinary Machine", Jon Brion versions, off her new one, great "fuck you" break up songs.9.) Gloria Gaynor - "I WIll Survive", somebody had to say it. The Cake cover isn't bad.
Sorry to beat you to the punch mk 8) Good list as well.....Movin on Up or Loaded by Primal Scream are also good choices. I didn't even think to include any Beck tunes on the list, so I would throw in Debra (one of the greatest Beck songs ever), Lord Only Knows, Sexx Laws, or Mixed Bizness by him.

Also, eve, which sublime song would be your pick?  It's hard to make a feelgood mix w/o sublime, but I'm not totally sure which song to pick
Caress me down definately.  that song always puts me in a good mood.  Maybe Santaria, What I got.  depends on his interests.

YanniHis flute is very soothing.
So is his 1980s style porno mustache.
Yup.....Styled much like the infamous Ron Jeremy. Here is something you didnt know though. Ever notice that Ron Jeremy would make a great Super Mario.
He does play Hornio in the porn classic Super Hornio Brothers.

Great job guys. I'm making the final burn tonight.A few things1) I thought I sent RenaeDawn a PM about being a former One of the Five Iceman05. Perhaps I did not. 2) 2 of us engaged in the political/death penalty debate. Our ideologies are almost identical on that subject. 3) At least half of the good stories were mine, including the Gay Uncle/Beginning of my alcoholism story Renae seemed to enjoy. I'll probably pop back on and give you a list/final burn and see if you have any order suggestions before I give it to him in a few days. Thanks for all the help guys. Almost the entire CD is going to be comprised of suggestions from this thread. I'll probably give you a credit on the inside jacket. Thanks again,Wangitty Wang Wang

Did you really like this? I'm a bit on the fence about it..
His talent is awe inspiring. It was my favorite album of the year. I can't stop listening to it.Thanks KDawg. I might take you up on that pussy-gettin' jazz jam CD soon. And MBreon- It most definitely turned out well. I gave it to the brother yesterday. I'm on a different computer now, so I don't have the tracklist readily available, but if I track it down I'll post it. I know for sure that I led off with The Sun by Polyphonic Spree, followed with that "Surf Wax Off Your Shoulder" song (he's always been a big weezer fan, and is the only white kid on the planet with a "Reasonable Doubt" poster in his room). I also tossed in the song "Felt Tip" by the band Love is All. I know I put 2 Flaming Lips songs on the CD. For sure I decided on "She Don't Use Jelly" just because it always makes me happy. And I think I used "Yoshime", too, but I feel like it might have been something else.I included Don't Let it Get You Down by Spoon. "LA WOMAN" by the Doors. It always puts me in a good mood. I considered putting the Soundgarden version of "rusty cage" on the CD, but decided at the last minute not to."I feel free" by Cream was a good suggestion that I would never have thought off. Defeinitely made the cut.I put a few rap/hiphop songs on the disc, too. Don't remember what. I think I might have put "Great Day" by Madvillian."This Year" by the Mountain Goats made it.And I closed with "Light and Day" by the Polyphonic Spree. There are probably a few I'm missing, but it ended up being a great happy CD. I have it in my car now, and it's kept me in a good mood the last 2 days.Hey, thanks for all your help guys. I owe you one.
