AceyDucey 0
Im dealt QQ on the button and had seen maybe 3 out of 20 flops so far.EP makes it 5x to go..MP raises all in..button calls the all in...What do you do with your QQ. It would have severely crippled me making it a do or die hand.I ended up laying it down...EP go's all in over the top..and the button calls.EP: JJMP: A10Button: AJMe: Pissed off that i give these donkeys too much credit.JJ held up btw..and i ended up winning the tournament afterall. Boogie711 0
What he said ^^^.If this is early on, I'm folding QQ like it's my job. On the other hand, If I have a large chip stack, it's late, and I can smell desperation, I'm re-raising this. It's all situationally dependent.I wouldn't worry about the idiots who call all in's early with AJ. They get eliminated. The goal of an SnG is to make it to the money. You don't do that by calling hands.
AceyDucey 0
Yea sorry...this was about midway through the tourny.I was sitting about average chip stack..having seen a total of 3 flops out of 25 hands or so (just running completely dry)My reads were non existant, because i was multi tabling SnG's and i was paying attn to the other table more due to the fact i was having alot more hands to play there.I realised last night i suck at Multi tabling tournies...i folded A10 with a flush draw and top pair..when my draw missed and the EP bet out 1 bb to a 5bb pot...not paying attn to the fact that i had the ace..i was only computing flush draw and it missed therefore fold...similar situations at other times...on the bubble calling a river bet with 66 after it was checked back and forth to the river and th 4th flush card hit the river. bad call, wasnt paying attn to the last card...oh well i was 4 for 5 last night in SnG's with 2 first places...so i did ok. Rocketwadster 0
IMO, despite the lack of info you have given, pocket queens is a raising hand, not a calling all-of-your-chips hand, especially against multiple opponents (the size of the SNG makes a huge difference though - ie. a $5 SNG will generally play differently than a $50 SNG in your opponents playing requirements). 8)

Queens are vulnerable to overcards, and you have to figure at least one of the all-ins already in there to have at least an ace and/or a king, if not kings or aces. Maybe I'm just too tight, but that seems like an easy laydown to me. :?

After playing a few of them you'll realise that people are completely nuts in them, and the 1% of the time that you bust because someone actually had a reasonable hand is more than compensated for by the huge amount of times that you are way ahead in situations like this. I didnt really wanna coin flip for my chips, and i felt that would be the best scenario i would be up against. Probably a tight lay down at this level, but i feel at any respectable level it was probably the right play.

Let's make a tight hand range in this scenario-AQ+, 10-10+. Even limited to this range, you still have to call.Think of it like this-every time you hold against AK and the lower PP, you will have a ridiculous number of chips and should be able to guarantee yourself second. Even if this is just 1/3 of the time (which it won't be-your equity is around 43% in that scenario), it is a break even play.
