I predict that bobby bowden and joe paterno will make out live on the 50 yard line.
FYPPSU 34FSU 20and that will only be because of a few late meaningless FSU scores.

I predict that no one cares about this game, but will watch anyways since its the only footbal game on. Tomorrow they will barely remember the score or that the game even took place.Championship game is all that matters. You can thank the BCS for that.

and then on thursday, they'll remember all over again. Championship game is not all that matters, it just matters the most.

Sorry for derailing this thread, but i disagree.NCAA football has one of the weirdest post seasons. There's nothing really at stake in these other bowls. Seriously I cant remember most of the bowl winners from THIS season (much less last season). In all these bowls (with the exception of the championship game) the schools are playing for ... nothing. So is FSU beats Penn State, big deal. There's nothing at stake. It's just another game. I would much rather watch a conference championship game (like in the Big 12 or SEC). At least in those games there is something on the line. If these bowl games were playoff games, then that would be different.

Bragging rights. Representing the conference. Winning bowl games is HUGE for recruiting purposes. Leaves a good impression on the voters for next year, which is a very big deal. It would be a very big deal if FSU beats Penn State....that'd be a pretty big upset and their program would benefit greatly. Also, each bowl game has its own trophy and some have pretty good tradition, so it can be something pretty good to play for. I'm not saying they are the most important games ever, but I wouldn't say they don't matter at all. I assume you are a Texas fan, if they had gone 9-2 this year and were in the Cotton Bowl vs. Alabama, are you saying you wouldn't care if they won or lost anymore than a regular season game???? I know I care.

I dont know. I will remember the Fiesta and Sugar bowls for a long time. As for the championship bowl(Rose Bowl). I know I will remember that forever when USC whips some Texan A$$. :club:

I agree quite a bit with Koop. But, really it's all relative. The Alamo Bowl meant very little to Michigan, where as for Nebraska, all those practices and time in the new offense, showcasing your team to Texas recruits, posting another win, etc, etc, were all huge positives for Nebraska. The Outback Bowl meant a lot more to Iowa than it did to Florida. Showcasing your team infront of all those Florida high school fans, getting royally fucked by the officials, getting in another three weeks of practice before the spring game since the Hawkeyes have a younger team, a chance for Iowa fans to travel to Florida, etc. The bowl system works, it's not the BCS that makes the bowls seem less importance, it's the sheer number of bowls.

Man, practically noone is giving Texas a chance. Just like a few years ago when Oklahoma had no chance to beat Florida St. Gonna be two upsets for the Big XII in the past few years in the national title game.

also, back on topic, I am loving this game. Can't get enough defensive football. Hopefully Penn St. can pull it out and right after the game, the entire Bowden family will announce that for the rest of time, they or their family will never ever be associated with college football ever again.

I can remember when I was a little kid(7,8), watching the Bobby Bowden show on tv on Sunday mornings. That was when he was coaching WVU.

Not the smartest thing to call a screen pass on your own 5 yard line when your QB will be deep in the end zone facing a huge rush... wow.Booker you have to AT LEAST get out there damn. He has to know that

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring.
You really think this game is boring!??! Wow, you must be one of those west-coasters who thinks a football game isn't interesting until the teams go over the 90 pt. mark combined. That isn't football, that's playstation. This game is real football, with a little thing called tackling and defense. You know, where the team without the ball tries to prevent the team with the ball from scoring.
