I realize the ages of the majority of posters here will probably not fair well for guys like Akroyd, Martin, Belushi, et al....but I'm curious as to who you guys think is/was the best cast member from Saturday Night Live?I'm casting the first vote for Mike Myers!

In order1) Murray2) Martin3) MurphyThat is all
Has anyone ever seen the maly synchronized swimming sketch with Martin Short? That's probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. In fact, I'm immediately changing my signature to reflect my love. Hugs,Wang

i hope you aren't talking about steve martin, because he was never a cast member. he just hosted a lot.for the people that were the best while they were on the show, i would say:1. Belushi2. Ferrel3. Murphy4. Farleymy favorite person to have come from the show is Bill Murray, but i don't think he was that strong as a cast member. his movies are all genius though

Tough call, there have been so many great ones......but here's my list:1) Chris Farley2) Belushi3) Eddie Murphy4) Will Ferrell5) Phil HartmanWho do you think was the best at Weekend Update? Personally, I still like Dennis Miller the most, even though Chevy Chase perfected the role.

I'm old enough to have watched it faithfully in the beginning, when they weren't re-runs. As much as I like guys like Mike Myers and Martin Short, nobody can touch the beginning with Belushi and Akroyd. With Bill Murray a close second. Also, notable mention goes to the genius of the late Gilda Radner.

My favorites (judged just from their work on the show, not outside projects)... probably because they're from the era I actually watched SNL every week:1. Chris Farley2. Dana Carvey3. Mike Myers

Probably my least favourite = Jon Lovitz!
Jon Lovitz on SNL = FunnyJon Lovitz on anything after SNL = UnfunnyHe played some of my favorite characters on SNL, but everything he's done since has just been annoying...
