My vote goes to the one with the Final table with Hoyt Corkins, Gus Hansen, and Our boy Daniel.... One of the most exciting showdowns between Hoyt and Gus too. Hoyt pretty much had the tournament all but won, but here came Gus and there when Hoyts chips. Good stuff! Your guy's favorite WPT?

I think he meant which WPT Final Table did you think was the best? For me: it hasn't aired yet, but just wait for this year's Borgata Poker Open. Look at these names at the final table:Phil IveyDaniel NegreanuDavid WilliamsJosh Arieh"Syracuse" Chris TsiprailidisBrandon MoranNow that is ALL-STAR Cast..

I love watch Hellmuth whine as he loses. So we really have 3 options 1. Antonio doing the wave and Phil sulking and telling him to show some class and shake his hand in San Francisco (I'm from CT so I also get to see Darden win which is a plus).2. Aruba season 1 with Phil Gordon bustin out hte "what hand beats what hand card" to slow roll Phil. He took that about as good as the brat takes any loss.3. Of course my favorite is Phil getting beat in every hand he played against Hoyt at Foxwoods in season 2.

I have to say that my favorite one that has been aired is definitely the L.A. Poker Classic that Anotonio Esfandiari won against Vinny Vinh. It was a little too theatrical for my tastes but still good playing all-around..

my guess would be every hand YOU saw on t.v., most everyone on this forum would still get owned.Defending Phil he puts himself out there with his reactions. He has made more money playing tournaments than most people will see and his attitude is what makes him famous and allows him to sell all his products. I can't help it if the best hands for TV are when he loses, when he gets his money in with the best hand and wins is boring unless it is a pivotal hand it hits the edit room floor.

I don't remember which event it was but...My favorite was when Gus called Antonio's all-in bet with T8s (Antonio had 77). Antonio sees the T8 and says something like, "I don't get it--have you lost your mind?"Gus puts his arm around Antonio to watch the flop (the whole time looking like he KNOWS he's going to hit it) and when he hits it, he get this big grin and says, "oh, my God," and looks at Antonio as if he should be proud of him.Antonio wanders back to his seat muttering, "what an idiot".Antonio is broke because Gus had him out-chipped.Funny stuff.

yeah this one is one of my favorites, its an all action one with guys making moves left and right. The carribean classic w/ Daniel, Gus, and Hoyt was great because as soon as it got down to being three handed we got to see some real good play. My vote for worst WPT final table was the first reno hilton one(the casinos europa was pretty boring too, all the players did was push in). The players in the first Reno hilton just left me bored and there wasn't much I learned from that one other than Quack Quack

That was the WPT Bad Boys event. Devil Fish, Esfandieri, Hansen, Darden, Laak the Unabomber and a newbie. That's one of the boldest all in calls I've ever seen. I've been mulling over why Gus called and I've come to the conclusion that Gus thought that if he folded Esfandieri would take a huge chip lead and Hansen's chance of winning the tourney would drop to something like 10%. If Gus won, on the other hand, he would eliminate his most dangerous opponent and have about an 85% chance of winning the tourney because of his commanding lead in chips. It was a classic win it all or go bust scenario.

My favorite was the Season 1 Foxwoods Event. You know the one with a final table that included: Howard Lederer, Layne Flack, Andy Bloch, Phil Ivey, Peter Giordano, and Ron Rose... they finished in that order. That is one hell of a final table, and the play by Howard, Layne, and Phil was awesome. This season's Borgata event should challenge this one for my favorite... Let's just wait and hope it's gonna be as good as we expect it to be.

Thanks, I didn't know if anyone would pick up on it. By any chance do you think there is a way I can get it on DVD?

Did you read the article on Gus in the last cardplayer? It talks about this hand, kinda interesting.[edit]Ok I lied, technically it's not the current, but it's the most current I have gotten in the mail. The article is at:http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_magazine/a...4525&m_id=65555He basically said he put him on a small PP, like 33-77, and if he did indeed have that read it is totally the correct call off pot odds (along with his usual wanting to keep up his image and whatever else you want to say). Correct pot odds because of what was already in with his raise I mean.Anyway, the article is interesting. And it is rather amusing that people call him utterly lucky when he's had as much overall success as he has. Not to say he isn't lucky on certain days, we all are. /shrug

At one point during my sophomore year, my friend Ryan got drunk and downloaded EVERY SINGLE EPISODE on my computer. Sadly, I had to put ole' Bessy to sleep last year when she got adware'd nearly to death. Poor girl.Ice

I'm sorry but the L.A. Poker Classic Season 2 in which Antonio Esfandiari wins has to be the worst WPT event to date. The blinds were so high relative to the stacks that there was virtually zero post-flop play. Every hand was an all-in hand. That makes for terrible TV and terrible poker in my opinion. My favorite is probably The Grand Prix de Paris at the Aviation Club in Season One. Tony G is a great character and Allen Cunningham plays spectacular poker only to finish 3rd to Claude Cohen and the champion Christer Johannson.

one of my favorites is the Borgata WPT from season 2. I like for the battles between Carlos Mortensen and David Oppenheim. Carlos Mortensen is a great player and in my opinion deserves more attention than he gets. David Oppenheim is good player too. Plus I think it's f unny to hear Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten say "bravo, Juan Carolossss" in really bad accents...lol.I didnt care too much for the rest of the players...lol.The PP cruise for a million is pretty good too. Daniel, Edog, Scotty Nguyen, and it was the only season 2 broadcast that showcased Limit Holdem.good stuff

I felt that the first season's shows featured a lot more quality players. So, I guess it shouldn't come as a suprise that my favorite two episodes were the Foxwoods World Poker Finals, with an all star lineup consisting of Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Layne Flack, Andy Bloch, and Ron Rose, and the WPT Championship with Ted Forrest, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Alan Goehring and Kirill Gerasimov. The Battle of Champions and the WPT Championship for Season Two were pretty nice as well.

I'll see which one I think is the best WPT ever after I see next week's "Poker by the Book" episode. Unfortunately, I think I already know who wins, but to see Mike Caro and David Sklansky play will be a real treat (I think). I know Caro won't be playing up to his cash game antics, but I still want to see it. I wonder if Mike Sexton is going to be commentating on his own play while he makes it?In case nobody knows the hype, the lineup isMike SextonDoyle BrunsonPhil HellmuthMike CaroDavid SklanskyTJ Cloutier

It's funny you mentioned that one because (no disrespect meant to any of the players) I thought that it was the single most poorly played final table ever played on the WPT. Different strokes I guess... :D
