Fourhead 0
Those of you who have been playing poker in Atlantic city - what's it like compared to Vegas? Is there a good availibility of games (looking for $10-20, $15-30 limit hold'em and $100+ tourneys) at all times? What are the good places besides Taj Mahal?Flying all the way to Vegas from Sweden is hell.(Please start a separate thread if you're gonna flame or just post stupid replies)
dna4ever 2
Atlantic City is NOTHING like Vegas except you can play poker there.I went to AC last year and it is a dirty city that does not have a good atmosphere IMO. With that being said I stayed at the Borgata which is a VERY nice hotel, beautiful cocktail waitresses, and has a kick ass card room. You can definitely have a good time in AC, just dont expect it to be the Vegas of the Northeast cause you'll be sorely disappointed
HtotheNootch 0
I was there last week. It's okay. I had a nice room at the Tropicana. There were enough games that I didn't make it to the Borgata. That said, I'd avoid Bally's. Yes, it's the only poker room that allows smoking in AC, so that might matter to you, but it was just depressing. I went because I'd heard that they had STTs, but the weren't running when I was there. So I sat at a NL game. The game was soft, but the players just depressed me.I can go to AC for a $10 bus ride so I will from trime to time. If I were you, I'd fly NYC or somewhere else on the east coast, do somethig for a day or two and then fly to Vegas or LA.
booyaga 0
The Borgata is on the marina, so if you don't have a car, you are stuck there, unless you get a cab. But the Borgata has pretty much everything you need if you are a) a gambler, or B) a clubber, or c) just a sicko who likes lookin' at hot girls with alot of skin showing. There's some more places by the boardwalk, but if you have to go out of the casino and to the gentelmen's clubs, you're gonna have to walk through some scummy areas.
