76clubs 0
I actually got a decent gift. My ex-wife got me a deluxe poker set for me from the kids. It's a nice wodden case with a glass cover, 2 drawers, that comes with 120 heavy clay chips, 2 decks of cards, a dealer button and dice. The only downside to it is it is not portable, and I was planning to buy myuself a really nice 500 piece set very soon. Since I don't play much poker at home, it's kind of worthless. And I don't want to go buy the other set now because the kids will wonder why I'm not using their gift.Oh well, it's not a bad set. It looks nice too, so even if it just sits there I guess it's not all that bad.wait hold upyour ex-wife? present? got?
DILLIGAF 0
I have you all beat! Worst poker gift ever.... This thing is a 2" x 2" box complete with a tiny cardboard table, cards, and little chips that you have to "poke out" of a sheet. Also a very informative little book that "teaches you how" to play holdem, 5 draw and 5 stud. Awesome. Time to TP/MM. Also got some good stuff: HOH vol 2, a nice poker themed wall clock, and a gold card protector.
SweetDaddyFreak 0
For some reason, since all my friends and family know that I play poker for a living, they think it is imperative for me to own every piece of retarded "poker-related" material they can get their hands on. Since poker is now "mainstream," its seems that every department store has some sort of poker novelty gift now to sell. I'm interested to hear what everyone may have gotten over the holidays? I'll go first. Two things actually ... first, a friend bought me a 50-chip poker-chip set from Macy's "just in case I didn't have one yet." LOL - are you kidding? I spent several hundred dollars a couple of years ago on a nice set of poker chips ... thanks for the thought though. I ended up re-gifting it immediately the next day in a white-elephant exchange ... of course it was the best gift and everyone was fawning over it. I don't get it.The other one was a magnetic dart board, but instead of a regular dart board layout, it had pictures of all 52 cards. Apparently the object is to throw five darts and make a better hand than your opponent. Being 26 years old, this gift obviously fits well within my age range ... (sw)Anyone else get a great poker gift for Christmas?I got the dart board too!
flash420 0
I got nothing, nothing poker related at all. Thank god. No one likes poker in my family anyway.

Crg35 0
My wife beats you all....As we both play poker 90% of our gifts were poker related. Some pretty good, many quite awful, but she got poker pot holders and oven mitts. Yes, you heard me correctly.

VegasBone 0
I'm kind of suprised to hear so many flames about the WSOP card shuffler. My wife got me one for xmas and I think it works great. Maybe you have to use Poker style playing cards....I know they make a bunch of different kinds...and I think the poker style ones are a little thicker and have a plasticy coating on them so they are more durable since they are manipulated by peoples hands more. Just a thought....or maybe you got one that's warped...so try exchanging it.and I agree with the review of Hellmuth's Play Poker Like the Pros. It's the gift that keeps on giving........to everyone else at the table.
InertGrudge 0
I got a very sweet IOU "A Super Sweet Poker Chip Set" on a piece of paper because my mother didn't know what kind of poker chips to buy me.I quickly told her about Nevada Jacks' 500 chip set, but I don't think she was really feeling that.Oddly enough, I didn't get a single poker-related gift. Weird, considering poker is roughly 95% of my life these days.
