Adjusting to pot limit play. I have played alot of PLO and alot of limit O8 which, is my best game, but what adjustments should i make before diving into PLO8. I consider myself to be very good in both games, especially limit O8, but the one time I tried PLO8 it was pretty costly.

position is absolutely the most important thing. as im sure it is in PLO. just remember that a naked A2 is not always as strong. it's really easy to get quartered for a lot of money in PLO8 so make sure you are drawing at both nuts.generally, you have so much implied odds in PLO8 that you can fold for hours and just wait for absolute monsters. dont be afraid to let go of a made nut low if the pot has a lot of players and is starting to get jammed (especially if you don't have counterfeit protection).position, position, position. gl

This statement contradicts itself. Implied odds refers to situations where you are justified playing longshot draws due to the potentially large bets to be won on later rounds. If PLO8 is a game that has a lot of implied odds, then you would want to play a lot of hands, seeing flops for cheap and then folding if you miss.

1. Only play good starting hands.2. Limp in EP, pot in LP preflop.3. The more people (you allow) seeing the flop, the less aggressive you should be (when you are playing at lower limits) because you are against Nx6 hands against you. Bad beats can happen more often. And therefore it comes to 4...4. Don't overvalue your hand strength (as a lot of plo8 players do). Avoid confrontations with good players, attack fish (As an old saying, if you can't find the fish, you better leave. If you don't bother, well, welcome to the tank).5. When you just sit down, play weak-tight, after you build up your stack, become more aggressive and you can loosen up a bit.6. Have a plan with your hands and always think about what your opponents' actions/reactions mean.7. Don't steam! If you get bad beats, take a cigarrette, surf a porn site, ... you are right, i was slightly misusing the term "implied odds". what i actually meant, or what i hoped was understood, was that with monster hands many times you will get paid off in a huge way, so just wait for these hands.PLO8 doesn't have the same "impled odds" as NLHE.i thought of another useful concept in PLO8:make sure you have redraws. often times you and an opponent will flop the same straight. you want to make sure that you can draw to a higher straight or a flush.also, don't be afraid to fold when you obviously no longer have the best hand.

Since you are already proficient at PLO and LO8, I think PLO8 should be easy to pick up. Just play some low limit games to avoid the ramp-up losses.The major leaks in PLO8 as opposed to LO8 is drawing to or getting quartered with naked lows; this is much more expensive than in limit.
