Should Andy Beal return to the biggest game, who do you think he should be facing out of the following line up of professionals and wannabes (max of 7 players). Remember i am looking for serious, objective posts.i know we all have our favorite players but this is big time poker (from 50000-100000 to 100000-200000).1-Ted Forrest2-Doyle Brunson3-Todd Brunson4-Neverwin (with of course a serious backer)5-The grinder (he has the bankroll now)6-Allen C. (with a few backers)7-yes,yes..Daniel Negreanu(that is if Lederer lets him in of course)8-Jen Harman9-Dreamclown10-Miau Giang11-Chip12-Bear(although after his last performances...hmmmm)13-eskimo(with a few backers)14-Phil Ivey15-Travis the assistant16-the future DN protege17-Howard Lederer18-The Magician (with a few backers)19-Johnny Chan20-Mimi Tran[/b]

neverwin woudl probably be one of the better choices, heads up limit holdem is his specialty...just saying. Also, antonio plays lots of cash games and considers himself a cash game player first, probably not limit cash games I dont think though...again jsut saying. Mimi tran is a really good limit player, so just dismissing her aside because you know nothing about her is ignorant. I dont think it's that worthless of a thread, it's the general poker forum, it's a general what if poker question, settle down people. Some people are looking for excuses to get pissed and say the forum sucks, and I will admit i was earlier. If you don't like the thread don't respond it's simple as that. OP I like this post, it's an interesting question.

Ok Antonio does play cash games, but would never be in this game and you know it. Neverwin would be perfect for the group, but I was just saying they wouldn't ask him (or let him)Mimi, your right I should not have dismissed her with one word. I am not ignorant though, so chill out with the name calling big fella. mimi is a fine limit holdem player, but she would not be included in such a game.

He isn't a poker player by trade and has no urge to be one.He just was competitive and made a run. It didn't mean much to him in the grand scheme of things and he probably won't do it again.I read the book and that's the impression it gave.He doesn't really care about the poker world. He just wanted to obliterate them and destroy their confidence and prove it could be done.

I will even say that even though Doyle may facilitate such an undertaking, he wouldn't be on my list either. I would add Phil Ivey, Joe Cassidy, and David Oppenhiem but not sure who I would take out. Doyle, Chip, and Barry didn't do so well the first time out so maybe they would be out. That sounds so bad Doyle, Chip, and Barry wouldn't be in.Howard? He did so well last time, but I wonder if he is still on his game?

I know you were mainly right, I was just nitpicking, wasn't trying to piss you off or say you were ignorant. I wasn't saying you were ignorant but simply dismissing a really good limit player was kind of an ignorant post.

Ron, i agree with everything you said.....except when you said, he probably won't play in the big game again. I personally think he will. He seems like a VERY competitive person, and he knows that he can do it. It wouldn't surprize me, if he had a little more restrictions next time, on how long they could play for. That was the part that seemed to let him down, all the other players could play for alot longer, and he was overrun when he got tired. He wants to prove it can be done, and i don't think he has done that yet.

the young guys, the neverwins, dreamclowns, erik123's and cassidy's of the world should start their own corporation if andy beal really wants to play the best HU holdem players in the world. johnny chan, doyle brunson, barry greenstein and others aren't limit holdem specialists. andy beating some of doyle's corp really doesn't prove much. the whole thing was blown way out of proportion because the stakes were so high. i honestly don't care if beal plays them again. i'm more interested in when DN will cry uncle in these online HU matches.

I think that Andy Beal should come back and take on the pro's again. They probably have so much money that the stakes that Andy would want to play wouldn't scare that much. And if you read at the end of the book they talked about having a rematch where it was filmed, the winner gets the money and the loser gets the film rights. Andy said if he lost he wouldn't broadcast the video and he thought that more ppl would tune in to see an amateur take down the pro's for a lof of money.my picks:Todd BrunsonTedd ForestHoward LedererJen HarmonmaybeChau Giang.... and the pros would never let Neverwin in on the action.
