That's why, you'd actually have a different handicap at a course depending on the tees you play from.For example, and index of 10.2 on a course that was slope 121 may be a 11 handicap, but at a course of 131 slope, they may be a 13.At the course I was caddying at when I grew up, someone may actually have an index of 12.4, but at that course, based on slop and rating, it translated to a 15 or 16 depending on the tees. To try to make it fair, they'd even to go the point of marking trends, as in the weekly calculations, when it put in your most recent rounds, someone who was 12.4 might be trending 12.1, which may have then been equivalent to a local handicap of 15 rather than 16.Most of it is immaterial, unless you're really seriously playing net scores against people from all over.
