jeff_536 3
Ah HAH! I get it now.Yer a wiley one, haha.So who's excited about pitchers and catchers reporting this week! I'm thinkin Braves reclaim the East and win the World Series. You, sir, are completely wrong about the Braves, although I admire your loyalty. They've moved LaRoche and Giles without upgrading and their starting pitching depth is suspect. And I expect them to trade Andruw at some point this year.Although they do have a nice bullpen.

mulhs82 2
So who's excited about pitchers and catchers reporting this week! I'm thinkin Braves reclaim the East and win the World Series.I AM!!!!! I am so anxious to get back to a .500 team that a 0-0 record is good enough for me. And not so fast about your Braves. The Phils have a decent rotation, with an expendible 6th starter to try and get some needed bullpen health. They need a bat behind Howard, cause Burrell isn't gonna cut it (IMO), but the 3 headed manager thinks it will work and I think there is enough outfield depth where he can be benched if need be.I don't know if the Phils can take the division, but with the Mets seemingly spinning their wheels, the gap has closed to a handful of games from the 16 or so it was at the end. TJ_Eckleburg 0
Haha, yep, I know I'm a horribly biased fan. The Phillies are a lot better this year, the Marlins and Nats are very plucky, and I hate hate HATE the Mets so I can't say anything nice about them.We have major question marks in a bunch of places. The great thing about being a Braves fan is that we can just sit back and say "It's okay, Bobby will work a miracle... and if he can't, Schuerholz will broker an awesome deal and it'll be okay." We're going with a Scott Thorman/Craig Wilson platoon at 1st, and Kelly Johnson is probably hitting leadoff and playing second... we'll just have to see how that turns out. I do think we'll have one of, if not the best, defensive outfields in the league though, and we might platoon Langerhans and Diaz.I'm really excited to see how our young pitchers work out. And our old pitchers. Hudson says he's tired of licking donkey balls and wants to return to Oakland form... and Mike Hampton... well, we'll just see about Mike Hampton. But, between Kyle Davies, Chuck James, and Oscar Villareal... I think one or two of them will have great years. And the bullpen is loaded now. So it'll be an interesting spring, to see how this all shakes out.

TJ_Eckleburg 0
And you bring up a very good point, Jeff.I will be so sad to see Andruw go. He's going to have a monstrous first half to make his value high, though, so that's good. He's represented by Scott Boras, so you KNOW he's going to "test the market." Buster Olney says barring injury, he'd be shocked if Andruw doesn't get a 6 year 100M type deal from someone. And our fcuking team is owned by a fcuking corporation, and we'll never shell out the kind of money a guy like Andruw commands. And even if he's a 5 and 10 guy... and even when I watched his Atlanta debut (3 HR in Philly!!)... he'll end up somewhere else.I'll be really upset when he leaves.

In fact, they even paved the way for gigantic contracts. They may STILL be paying Claudell Washington.
