I'm about to drink wine and eat french fries. Gourmet.edit: Yep...I liked my own post.

Happy Fourth of July to those that celebrate. I have a couple of Angus steaks marinating in K.C.Masterpiece Steakhouse blend as I type. That will go with a shrimp cocktail, twice baked potato and corn

I don't know about my taxes yet, but I'd have about $70 more of my own money after this weekend if I weren't a drinker.
I know.I thought about it, and I spent an estimated 16-18 hours in a bar this weekend.

Something strange seems to happen here every day.Not every night you meet a bartender, who during a Michael Phelps discussion, complains how unfair it is that Speedo gave Michael Phelps support, and when the pot thing happened to her brother 10 yrs ago, they dropped her brother despite his 10 Olympic medals......
Gary Hall has a sister living down there?

I think you're definitely in if you go back tonight and casually mention how much you and your e-friends learned about her and her brother after you mentioned her on a poker forum.
Obv.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- General Motors is offering buyouts to virtually all of its remaining hourly workers, becoming the latest automaker to try to cut labor costs by giving nervous workers an incentive to leave the company. The move follows a similar move by Chrysler LLC, which made an offer to its hourly workers on Monday. The GM (GM, Fortune 500) offer, which takes effect Friday, is less lucrative than the deal proposed by Chrysler, or even offers that GM has made to its hourly staff in the past. The automaker will give most of its 62,000 U.S. hourly workers $20,000, as well as a voucher good towards the purchase of a GM car worth $25,000.Chrylser's offer is for to $50,000 to virtually all of its 27,000 U.S. hourly workers, along with a voucher good for up to $25,000 on the purchase of a vehicle. I'm not sure what an hourly GM or Chrysler employee makes, but that is an interesting decision. With the economy in the shitter and other job opportunities pretty bleak, wonder what % of people would entertain this 'buyout'. I am probably way off, but I would imagine an average hourly auto worker makes $35K/year? In the Chrysler case the people are getting a paid 15 ish months off to find something new not counting another $25K towards a new vehicle that they could probably turn around and sell for at least 70% cash.

I believe that most of the union workers make signifigantly more than 35k a year. But, if you had other decent job prospects, then why not? The key there being *if*.

Interesting quick google search result ...In the debate over the bailout of the American auto industry, one number seemed to stick in the craw of a reluctant public: the oft-quoted figure that manufacturing workers at America's Big Three automakers — Ford, Chrysler and General Motors — make $75 an hourIn the case of GM (cited by Bachus), the wage for a traditional line worker is actually $29.49 an hour, according to GM spokesman Tony Sapienza. That comes to an annual salary of around $61,300.Never thought it would have been that much.

Also, you'd have to take into account how it'd effect your pension.
