Turn comes Tc, I push, villain instacalls with KsKc. Of course he hits the river spade, but that really doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things. Just curious if there is a way to lose less money here. Only other option I come up with is smooth calling the flop and hoping the turn bet is not to big and the river blanks a spade other than the straight flush spadeedited to fix some incorrect uses of hero vs villain lol

im not looking at the way u played it yet... but i'm confused if ur the hero and ur in the bb, how did you check and then the hero fire 1k? i'm assuming u meant u checked and the villain fired 1k... So you have 7400 behind at that point and there is 12-1500 in the pot? not sure if antes are in now and he's betting 1k. I mean first of all, you should never even consider not going broke right here with ur stack. The problem is is that if he has the ace of spades he shouldn't hesitate to get it in vs ur jamming range either. I mean from his point of view when u c/r him here u could have about a bazillion dif hands plenty of which he already would have beat. So basically it comes down to two ways to play the hand, you can either try to play a huge pot on the flop and get it in there in which case if you get called you probably don't have huge equity in the hand although he's also probably folding a ton of the time to ur jam when he doesnt' have a big spade or you can check call flop and lead jam the turn on a blank. if it comes a spade you can either c/c turn of c/f turn b/c or b/f depending on villain's image. Id say most of the time im c/r all in on the flop... or even lead/3betting a raise all in on flop. i think with ur stack that's not a bad play here, if u lead 800, he makes it 2400 and u ship 8000, or soemting like that.i'd prolly lead out 30% with intention of jamming on a raise , checkraise 50% and check call flop 20%edit: i see u fixed it.. disregard first couples sentences.edit: ok i looked at how u played it now.... if ur going to c/c the flop than if i'm you im probalby overbet jamming the turn when it blanks, you want to get all ur money in on the turn because his equity is cut in half there. That's teh whole benefit to keeping the pot small until the turn because you cut his equity in half and now can put in the same amount of money but with twice the return. You def. don't want to check the turn tho and risk giving him a free river card, because most guys are going to check behind weak holding on the turn that could still easily beat ur 6 hi flush on the river. on the flip side you gain zero information by c/c the flop because he could have any two cards and c bet that flop.

yeah fixed the hero/villain screw-up, no antes, SB folded, with my call there was 1400 in the pot and i had about 7550 behind. I was top 4 in chips with about 14 people left, tourney only started with 18
