what you hate about live poker !!

Recommended Posts

I hate all of you.  I wish I lived in a place where I could just go to a casino.  Home games are easy but not as cool as a casino, Im sure.  Although from what I hear, there can be many downsides
Atlantic City is just a six hour drive for you or a short flight which should be fairly inexpensive. Things might get out of hand if you lived in AC or Vegas due to the ease by which money can be lost. :canadarocks:

no vacation time nor money for flight/hotel room as well as poker, at least not for regular visits. Yeah its an option for a weekend vacation, but Id like a public place to play on a regular basis.

Also dudes wearing Oakleys and wide-brimmed golf hats, or Oakleys and Hoodies (pulled up) sitting in on a $3/$6 game. It's not TV...
Lol, you shoulda seen the table I was at last time in AC. It was at Harrah's. 3 guys w/ sunglasses, and one of them wore the hoodie too so he looked like an overweight Phil Laak.Best part is it was a 1/2 NL game! :club:

The only thing I hate about live poker is the drive. The closest casino with a decent card room is an hour away from me. I only play 3/6, so it's hard for me to justify the drive out there. Other than that, I much prefer playing live to online.

I am lucky as I live in Reno Nevada. Every casino has a card room some better than others, there are the typical fat guys, homeless degenerate gamblers, the smoker with emphazema (no smoking in the card rooms though). But with all of these detractors there are 4 major factors that make it worth while....in no particular order1) free drinks2) extremely hot beer bitches delivering the drinks3) the weekend tourists that watch the WPT and know they have the game figured out (sunglasses and hoods included)4) free drinks

Dealers who are watching TV and slowing up the game, especially during tournaments. For the most part, poker players are very annoying people.
Actually, Dealers can make or break the experience of playing live. At my B&M, we have some very good dealers, who keep the action moving, that are personable, funny, whatever. There's one though, I want to punch. I refuse to play a hand when she's dealing. She's slow as all get out when she's dealing, she has no real concept of the rules and is just generally annoying.I was in a pot with a guy, and I got him to lay down top pair when I had a worse kicker. He showed AJ, I had A8. I showed him the ace and slid my cards toward her. She immediately flipped the eight face up.I lost it. She said, "Show one, show all." I tried to keep composure, and told her that "Show one, show all" means if you show one player your hand, you must show all of the players. The floor eventually came over and told her not to do it again, but I was already irate. It killed my table image as a rock, who only put it in with the best hand, and I ended up leaving. I still won't sit when she deals.
I'm assuming this is Prairie Meadows? Generally the dealers there are great. I could probably guess who the dealer was. Last time i was there she dealt and her boyfriend/husband who happens to be a dealer there also comes over and starts talking to her in the middle of the hand!I would have to say that the one thing that always gets me is the mouthy 21 yr olds that think they are the greatest player in the world. Sat at a 1/2 NL game and a kid bought in for max ($100). Gets mouthy with everybody. Proceeds to get slapped in the face with the deck. Then has to tell everyone at the table not to mess with him. Imagine Josh Arieh at the '04 ME on ESPN. Complete Jackass

1. Waiting an hour and a half to play stud or om 8/b while 6,000 3-6 hold em games are going on.2. The close proximity of slot machines to the waiting area.3. The hundred dollars i blow on slot machines while waiting for a seat4. the drive back to me house when i finally say f it and drive home to play on my computer.5. Jagoffs wearing hat and sunglasses at 3-6 games who treat every hand like we were playing a final table at the WSOP.6. No smoking.7. Shirt and pants are required.8. I can't read FCP posts while playing live9. Its harder to call a player an assclown suck out artist when playing live without risking a night in jail after a fist fight breaks out.10. Dealers blow.

Losing players like live more because they think they are better at it. In reality they are just losing money at a slower pace because the game moves a lot slower. Not pointing to anyone inparticular, just pointing it out.
Ahh, nice avatar. I remember those days. "Hey, the Canucks changed the logo." "Oh, you mean its not a stick in an arena anymore?" "No, its a blade.. in a sun, I think?" "Oh." "Yeah its also bright orange" "Oh."

I love you despite the fact that you could really take a break from sniffing my footprints and watching me in the bathroom window when I'm checking for breast lumps.

I hate people that think it's funny to fart at the table.Especially if it stinks.....all of a sudden everybody gets up from the table and it slows down the game and the "flow" of the game is interrupted.

Okay, honestly though, I hate it the most when people are talking during the hand contemplating their reads on their opponent; they try to pick up tells which are just actually me having ADD, or people who are like, "Hey, now the game is getting SUPER SERIOUSSS I'm gonna put my SUNGLASSES ON for this TEN DOLLAR BUY IN TOURNEY in which I have ONE MORE BLIND "
