based on the other post i think most will say you bet the pot to not give trips a chance to catch a free card.could your oppenent make that flop bet as a continuation?if he could or if he would lead the turn with trips or two pair, again, i say a half-pot bet. if the low comes we may be able to jam him. apparently, i was wrong on the other one so i'm probably wrong on this one too. fine: pot it, we wanna build the pot and make AA2 pay to get a quarter.

I think you have to pot the turn to make him pay to draw for low. Your flat call on the flop may let him think you are trying to steal, so you may get lucky and he may re-raise or just come along for the ride.It is highly unlikely that he has a set, unless you think he would raise UTG with KTQQ.

Assume he has AA2. Pot has $32, so his "equity" in a low is only $8. If you pot and he calls, the pot will be $96 and his low equity is $24. He will now have $77 left. Assuming the low comes in he will expect his equity to be $48 and may well call the last $77 to get it, but will receive only $62.50 back. Your profit is $62.50 (half his starting stack) plus the extra $6 of dead money. If the low doesn't come in and he folds on the river, your profit is $48 plus the dead money.I doubt you can win any more unless he has AA2 or AQ2 or AKK2, unless he tried to bluff. If you bet $25, the pot will be $82 and he will have about the same, so a pot bet call on the river will put him all in, so I would bet something between $25 and $32.

Well, I lost the hand history so sorry if results are sloppy. >>> TURN <<< [Th 3c Qh] [5h] MarcosMyFish: checks moneytoburn??????????????? moneytoburn checks. My thought procces being that by his raise preflop I know his most likly holdings are hand like A2xx and quite possiblely A23x. I think you have to pot the turn to make him pay to draw for lowWhy? we have the low draw as well, why not let him make the low and quarter him for all his chips? >>> River<<< [Th 3c Qh] [5h] [8c]The river ended up making me the nut low, my oppenet came out potting it right into me. (most likely trying to get me off a high as I had shown "weakness" on the turn) I gladly stuck the rest of my chips in the middle and quarted him for a lot more of $$$ then i could have got my simply potting the turn. If I had potted the turn there is no way I could have seen any more of his money as he would have clearly folded with nothing but the nut low draw. By checking the turn I induced him to fire right into me, building the pot and commiting himself for all his chipsI did not hear "check" in the responses, I make this play occasionly would love to hear thoughts

Firstly, you don't have c-f protection for your low draw. Secondly, unless he is an idiot (or very unlucky to be holding 2 hearts) you need to build the pot now so you can put him all-in on the river. If you check here, most likely he checks to you on the river, you pot (35), he calls and you collect 78.75, netting 43.75 since the turn. Even if you bet 10 on the turn and he folds, you collect 35. If he calls, you should be up for 143.75-10-55=78.75 net.

This is tremendously results-orientated thinking. You must pot the turn.Any T, 3, Q or 5 kill your hand completely, and an A or 2 may well lose you half the pot. Also, once all the cards are down, Villain cannot have any draws to tempt him to call a big bet. On the turn, he might call with just a nut-low draw, or just top set because he has outs - on the river he knows exactly what his hand is worth and will be less likely to get involved. :club:
