aj off - utg @ 10man ring table?

What's move? raise 3xBB? raise min...?I hate raising 3xBB UTG w/ it since when three or four people call (as is usual at the Party soft games) and an Ace hits, you have no idea if someone just smooth called w/ AK, AQ or even AA.I guess you can throw out a first bet to see where you are at but... How do most of you handle situations such as that?

Limp. A raise keeps people from calling with A-x, and fails to warn you if someone's got something good. I guess it builds a pot, but you don't really want that playing a middling hand OOP.

This is probably too tight, but over the past few months, I open fold Aj0 and limp AJsuited UTG and UTG+1. Riase in tournaments or if the table seems overly tight.

UTG, I'd fold 70% of the time and limp and play cautiously 20% of the time. The other 10% of the time, I'd pick good situations to raise 4x the bb and bluff as if I had a bigger hand.

Yeah, I suppose I don't fold this all the time.Table texture lets me raise with it about 10%.

yeah, i fold ajo here. i might fold aqo. in a limit game, i def fold aqat a full ring table (10 seats) that is.......lately i prefer 6 handed nl ring online

AQos, eh. I'm probably 60/20/20, limping, raising, folding. Again, a lot with table texture.

ok. well i havent been playing online much lately. just a few sngs tonight. and the casino this past weekend, which i thoroughly bitched about over in that forum. but hey, i might be playing in some small nl games on paradise in the next day or 2, so if i get something interesting to share, ill post it. :-)

Folding AQo utg is unbelievably weak.AJo I like to try and see a flop at passive tables and will often fold it at more aggressive ones.

you do realize for a number of years doyle brunson never played aq....yes, what a weak, weak player he isand oh yeah, drawing dead guy.. paradise is being stupid with their hand history retrievals tonight... as well as their waiting lists... won a couple decent pots (over $100 on .25.50 nl) that i was gonna post somewhere... but alas, not only do i not know where... but i dont have them right now. heh.

Op, I would never be min raising with this hand or for that matter rarely with any hand.Depending on the table, I'm folding this a fair bit, limping it a bit and raising occasionlly to mix it up.I'm pretty much raising AQ every time personally.

Oh, I disagree. AQo is a hand that plays horribly when you are out of position. If you raise with the hand from utg, what are you hoping is going to happen? Best case scenario is someone overplays their AJ when an ace flops. What do you do when the flop comes ragged? Just give it up right there and check? Contination bet into 3 people when you have absolutely no idea what they might be holding? I personally think raising AQo utg is just giving away money. It leads to too many flop decisions that you have to make with no information and usually a pretty mediocre hand.
