Thank you for your service in protecting our country... by the way... I have an old M-16 A1 that needs a new auto-sear and pin/spring. Pretty sure the A3's use the same one.... can you smuggle me one?
LoL. I'll see what I can do. We use A2's primarily, I think the army has some A3's and everyone is starting to get the A4's. It's a good weapon

I am a Civilian but work for the Dept of Defense and specifically the Navy. I do weapons design and analysis of weapons systems. I rode on a bunch of US Subs including one that took on 85 tons of water and we all had to abandon ship -- that was a lot of fun. I do a lot of work with foreign Navy's as well. Peace.

you definetly have to be a high roller to be able to afford a spork. They used to be one of the biggest secrets in the Department of Defense, now a days they are known but still are very elusive.http://www.spork.org/

I'm not in the Marines, but I am stationed at Oceans11. It's about a 5 minute drive south from Camp Pendleton.

The government tries to keep sporks under wraps, but I've heard that you can get them at KFC and sometimes even Taco Bell. SHHHH! Keep it down. They're always watching... :club:

Not military, but have a few family members in the service. I am right next to Ft Campbell, now and parents live in Heidelberg, Germany. I will be taking my annual trip to see them as I pass through Amsterdamn. Good luck going back to Iraq, from what I have heard from the troops comming to Campbell, there is a lot of good things going on over there that are not reported in the news. Stay safe and keep up the good work!

I spent time in Heidelberg as I lived in a town called Leimen just a few km's out of the city. Beautiful place...check out a bar named the Alteschimde (pub style) and have a glass boot full of beer. It is located on the Hopstrasse (main cobblestone street that leads up to the enormous castle)...loads of fun. Cheers!

I have actually been right by that place, never stopped in, but I will be sure to do that when I arrive. A damn glass boot full of beer? Does it have a foot after taste? lol... Thanks for the heads up!

A civilian salute to you for your service. My best friend is in the NY Guard and just got back from Iraq. They were attached to the 256th out of Louisiana and spent 11 months in Baghdad. They came home at 100% troop strength so we're thankful for that.Again, thanks for all you do and all the best!

I am a Logistics Officer in the Canadian Army. Location as stated at left. Appreciate your service, good luck.
I worked with some RCAF officers at the Salvation Army doing some volunteer work after Katrina... some of the coolest people I've ever met.

In all seriousness...and this is very difficult for me...there are many thanks owed to the men and women who serve to protect our way of life...I watched a repeat of a docudrama made about UA93 on 9/11 and there was one line that stuck with me...'the brave people on that flight chose to be the first warriors in the new War on Terror'I thank the rest of you for chosing the be the second wave of the fight.God's Speed and kick their mother&&^%&** asses!!!!!!!!

I'm not in the military but have recently been thinking alot about joining over the past few weeks. Just your typical poor middle class kid trying to make a living right now and bussing tables at the local restaraunts just ain't cutting it. Maybe you guys could help me decide in what I should do about this?Main reasons why I want to join1. Money and benefits 2. they pay for schooling3. need to do something with my life4. chance to travel (live in Hawaii, only been to Cali and Vegas)My father and about 6 of some of my closest friends all joined in the army reserves and about 4 of them (including my dad) have all went to Iraq for the war, the main reason why I didn't join right out of high school. But now since things have sort of mellowed out there, I just might want to sign up...

Join the Air Force, and don't go in as open general. You'll get all of the benefits that you're looking for, without worrying nearly as much about going to Iraq... and even if you do go to the desert, it'll more than likely be Kuwait or Qatar, far away from the action. Stay away from the Security Forces jobs, though... might as well be Army. If you have any questions about the AF, feel free to PM me.
