justblaze 0
they wont find 6.
ajs510 122
Just as a wild guess I'd say:1- Phil Ivey (confirmed)2- The Aussie Millions Dude (confirmed)3- Daniel Negreanu (no way he's letting this go by...)4- Todd Brunson (if his Dad splits the buyin)5- Some other random member of The Corporation (on behalf of the group)6- Some mega-rich poker hobbyist (ie: Jerry Buss, Andy Beal, etc...) SilentSnow 1
actually, i did hear about one possible scenario.6 of the top players get together and come up with a agreement to split most of the money in advance, playing foronly a small fraction of the 60 million.they then go on tv and play the "biggest tournament ever",getting the publicity, and playing for a still significant prize.with all the nonpublicized dealmaking ive heard rumors of, thismight be a possibility. holdinmynutz 0
Do you think the Mouth is looking for sponsors right now?I would imagine that Poker Stars and Full Tilt try to get one of their guys in this thing too...but wow, $10 million is just a ton of money...this pot will be chopped at some point. Fullhouse7 0
If I read correctly (and, I'm drunk) Bill Gates--give me a break--$10 mil buy-in??? Only a consortium/corporate entity will risk this type of money for a 6-1 payout.
benhoug 0
Havn't heard of Andy Beal doing much recently, but Im sure he'd be one to jump on it.'cause he's such a NLHE tournament specialist...Seriously, just 'cause a dude has more money than God, and likes to play poker it doesn't mean he's gonna risk 10 million in a format he doesn't play. Does that dude play anything but short-handed/HU LIMIT Hold 'Em???

Fullhouse7 0
also, playing those stakes and players have 15 seconds to play--total joke.
kdogg 0
That speed poker game sounds horrible. I like it when players take their time and stare down their opponents during big hands (or DN's running commentary).

Does that dude play anything but short-handed/HU LIMIT Hold 'Em???Actually, from what I took from the book, he didn't really enjoy the game of poker, or love it like you or I would. He took on a project to see if he could accomplish something. If he loved the game, I'm sure he would be in the mix. He isn't. Just my .02The ZeeJustin response was priceless.
econ_tim 0
There will be a $100 million buy-in tourney in 2008, ratings permitting.

Ron_Mexico 4,219
I like to read and like to read about poker, so yes, I enjoyed it very much. I read it in about 2 days. It kept me enthralled, much like Royal and Speedz banging like Koala bears while being filmed by DNA.So yes, it is worth the read.On that same token, One of a Kind, the Stu Ungar book was very good as well. Another 2 day book.
ShakeZuma 585
I thought it was spelled numbskulls. oh well. and who in the world would buy in a tourney for 100 mil? I can see 10, but wow
PocketRocks 0
That is crazy. I bet they will get 6 players easily. That is a huge buy in though, and it is winner take all, meaning second gets nothing. That would be a hard decision to make for any poker player, to risk that much money in that format. Also, If I am playing for most of my bankroll, I would hope I wouldn't have to rush my decisions. I don't think I would like the speed poker thing. 15 seconds is not long enought for me to think about all the things I think about when faced with a tough decision. Sounds like a great tournie for Layne Flack, Phil Laak (too bad they most likely don't have the money to play in it), etc.. who play fast, but most of the best poker players in the world like to think about the huge decisions before acting. It would be exciting to watch though.

wax120 0
I hope Hellmuth plays in this, just because him blowing up after dropping 10 million would be excellent. I think Doyle plays, by the way. That's my theory. I think that him and Ivey are the two locks here.
