I noticed a tell which I have found helpfull when playing nl online. When a player bets enough to put you all-in, if he himself moves all in he is often strong, but if he manually types in the exact amount of money you have in front of you he is often weak, and bluffing or semi-bluffing. EX you have $23.50 opponent has $55 if he bets $23.50=weak $30=strong.

i bet the exact amount when I have a personal vendetta against someone, and im sure I have them beat and I want a call. It seems I get called more often when I do that. I just push all in if they're just a random person, or I am multi-tabling and don't have alot of time.ffishh

Yea this isn't a huge online tell because some people are the exact opposite but usually if they put in the exact amount they are weak. A bigger tell that happens a lot is when somebody clicks the automatic check box, they're very weak. You have to be careful because some people will do this with a strong hand but for the most part if somebody checks automatically, they're not interested in the hand.

No the bet pot amount means nothing. Usually when somebody checks when its their turn in under a second if i have nothing, i'll bet out at the pot to see if they did that because they had nothing or because they were tricking me. If they call then i wont bet at them again but if they fold then they'll usually fold everybody they check quickly so its a good tell.

I like it when I make them almost push on the turn, leaving them with 25 cents or so, and I put them all in for the rest on the river and they fold. Ohh I love pokerroom players.
Thats funny marion - I play at Pokerroom and have had this happen dozens of times to my amazement. Last night was a perfect example. I flopped trips with 2 spades. I bet hard and got a call. I bet hard again on the turn and the guy just called again. I was multi-tabling so I didnt realize after the turn bet, the guy only had $1.20 left. Now there was over $190 in the pot and I bet $2 on the river and he folded. He obviously was chasing the flush but come on . . . $190 pot and you don't call a $1.20 . . . funny stuff!!

Sorry OP, I must be playing my hands wrong. Sometimes I do push all-in and want the call because I am strong...Sometimes I bet the exact amount you have left because I want the call. I try to change it up, but since you KNOW it's a HUGH on-line tell, I can only assume that I am messing up your statistics.Do me a favor, evaluate a players play indivudually and don't generalize so much, you to might become a successful poker player someday.

This is no tell at all unless specific people are consistantly playing this way...I think you'll find a pretty even split as to how people do it!!! I'm sure there are just as many who bluff this way as there are that'll have strong hands!! :? IMNSHO
